Hi Rad,

It seems that it has just not been the right time for many of us in this thread.  Like Kristin, I would prefer to wait until everyone is ready - and work together as a group.

I was watching one of the School's DVDs where JWG had mentioned on that day that his right-brain was in dominance making him more intuitive, thoughtful and subjective rather than more left-brain logical, analytical and objective:  that's how I've been feeling for the last year (with transiting Pluto conjunct my Mercury as we speak!), and it has been difficult to actually think in a logical manner and get anything down on paper.

Thanks so much,

Linda

Hi Rad and Group,

Right now my move is over, I just don´t have internet at home but have time again to apply to EA assignments.

Honestly thou, I´m not feeling the flow with this approach we are taking with Saturn thru the houses and much preferred the way we did Neptune in relation to its various archetypal dynamics. I will continue as necessary but if there is another approach we could take and others also feel the same way, I would certainly prefer to go in another direction. For example we could cover some of the topics we suggested earlier in the thread.

Hi Skywalker,

Ok, thanks for that feedback. Let's hear from the others about this possible change of focus for our Saturn thread. I am wide open to whatever you all want to do.

Hi Rad,

I have a question about Saturn in Cancer in relation to the home environment/parents. Can this placement also indicate that one or both parents were too nurturing, and thus the child was never taught the skills to be emotionally mature/self-reliant?

Rad

Hi Lenore,

Yes ..........

God Bless, Rad

Thanks Rad.

Blessings.

Hi Rad,

I agree with Skywalker to follow the approach we used with Neptune with each member in the group choosing whatever treatment for their assignment.  Using the charts of real people had been a popular choice.  I find it difficult to write comprehensively about too many/all correlations for Saturn for the one assignment.  Separating the correlations works better for me.  The prospect of covering the entire Saturn archetype comprehensively (over potentially many months or even into next year) has made me feel that I cannot continue with them anymore unless we go back to Rad's original intention to send in "succinct" assignments.

Thanks to all,

Linda

Hi Linda, Skywalker, Kristin, Gypsie or anyone else interested in joining this thread ..

Ok, let me know what archetypes within Saturn that you would all like to develop more that would not require the extensive amount of time it has been taking by way of running Saturn through the signs.

Hello Rad and Group,

I've read each comment posted so far on the current Saturn format/focus thread. I totally understand why some of you would like to see a different format taking place and/or a different thematic. I am not opposed to it, but I am not totally for it either. I'd like to share my take on it.

First of all, as a newbie participant on the JWG forum, I personally love doing longer assignments, especially with Saturn. After all, Saturn, the taskmaster is about long lasting efforts and patience, and the mastery of some skill. Yes it is demanding, and each time I put quite some time in it between the research, the  inner search and the writing, but I don't mind the efforts, even if it takes me several weeks to complete an assignment. What is truly important right now for me on my path is to go deeper into Saturn, and to do it in an orderly and structured manner, yet creative way. Of course I don't expect anyone in this thread to have the same need or desire, or to put as much time as I do, or to even understand where I am coming from.

I find that through the process of writing and immersing myself into an assignment without rushing, a synergy takes place. With each passing sign, I go a little bit deeper into the core of Saturn and experience it from the inside out. It allows me to ponder on things like...what is really a structure of consciousness? how does one experience it? how is it different from my sun, my moon or my mercury, not conceptually but experientially, and that works well for me. I feel that going around each sign also helps me go deeper into each archetypal sign, and in turn I can see and feel how a sign shapes the essence of Saturn. This foundation seems essential to me and is a very different approach than attaching keywords to a planet, with no real resonance or substance behind the words. I have seen this quick approach in many astrological circles and this has not proven very productive to me.

One of my goals and interest in participating in this thread was to explore Saturn around the zodiac thoroughly and get to a point where Saturn would begin to reveal itself naturally without having to "think" much about an interpretation of how the planet and a sign or house work together. For that reason right now I am more interested in focusing my energy on exploring all the signs/houses in conjunction with Saturn rather than going into multiple directions with Saturn...

In my last 3 assignments I have tried to incorporate, as an exploratory exercise, some of the themes that Linda mentioned in a recent e-mail (which I can't find anymore on the thread). Anyway I think it is possible to do so and still gain from exploring in a more in-depth way how the signs/houses condition Saturn and its structure of consciousness.

As other classmates on this thread, I am, as well, highly interested in working on those themes, but for the time being I feel I need to put more efforts into experiencing Saturn via all the signs/house, and slowly insert all those other themes as we progress.

With regard to reading others' assignments on this thread, I never felt bored reading them, first because most were interesting, well-written and well thought of. This, to me, has value. Reading other classmates' assignments on Saturn has given me great joy, and a chance to learn, reflect, and see through other's eyes what I may not see myself. I feel this is very enriching, and even though it may seem like describing the JWG Saturnian archetypes is repetitive, it is the way that people combine these archetypes with their own perspective and understanding, as well as the examples they choose to personally give life to these archetypes, that I find interesting and stimulating.

As far as I am concerned, I approach the assignments as a learning process, and if the non-participant students read them and enjoy them, so much the better!  I think all the hard work that has been presented so far in this thread represents a wealth of information, and would be very helpful to those who later on want to study Saturn. I am under the impression that this was Rad's intention for this thread, but I may be wrong.

I have gained A LOT by doing, what turned-out to be longer assignments. I have done them so as to gain not a superficial understanding of Saturn but a deeper understanding. Once again everybody on this thread may have different needs, and that's fine. As far as I am concerned, I wouldn't mind if classmates choose to write shorter assignments, since this is not a competition or having to adjust to one another's style or efforts.

I am very thankful to Rad who each time takes the time to supervise the assignments and give us feedback and wonderful encouragement! It means a lot to me to  have an opportunity to be so thoroughly supervised on a topic that interests me. So, Rad, please know that I am very grateful for your time and knowledge. I've never heard about doing succinct assignments so if I have been "long-winded", it was certainly not intentional.

Since it is a group approach, I am excited and curious to see how the group will naturally resolve, transform, and move forward with this matter.

Linda

Hi Rad, Gypsie, Skywalker and Kristin,

Thanks for sharing some of your thoughts, and for reading mine.

Since I am obviously the odd-one-out, I think this thread should continue in the fashion it has been going.  The thread has covered Saturn in the signs Aries to Leo.  Virgo to Pisces left to go.

My problem is sitting in front of the computer for great lengths of time (many days), and the physical disability that takes place each time I do a long assignment.

This is my personal problem - and not a group problem.

Please go ahead without me.

I will be editing the book on Saturn - so that will be my contribution.

You are all doing such great work, and it's a pleasure to be part of this Saturn thread by reading your assignments, and then finally getting to edit the book.

For now, I will be much happier with short assignments that are being generated in the Uranus thread.

Love and Thanks,

Linda

Skywalker

Hi All,

I think the way the thread was going was pretty good with Saturn thru the houses as Gypsie and Kristin were doing amazing work but I am personally not feeling the flow with this approach. I don´t want to interfere with what anyone desires so just go ahead and do whatever suits you all best. I will either contribute with Saturn thru the houses or will simply wait until Saturn thru the Zodiac is complete to resume.

If Gypsie has such a strong desire to continue like this then I´m sure she will do amazing work and I encourage her to go the way she desires in order to really express herself, to learn in the way she described she is learning, and thus to also help teach EA.

all the best

Hi Group,

While I valued deeply the extensive Saturn process through the houses, I will not be able to spend the same amount of time on these posts as in the past, as I have just started work on a new EA book, material JWG taught about years ago.

However, I will do what I can to support this thread moving forward.  :)

Peace,
Kristin

Taurus Moon

Hi Group and Skywalker,
Maybe we could do a blend. I could continue focus on the sign/house, while those interested focus on a particular Saturnian theme using the sign/house that is being explored at the moment. Just an idea.
Gypsie

Rad

Hi Gypsie,

I like that idea very much. Please go ahead then and I will be happy to read through what you write.

Rad

Hi Linda, Skywalker, Kristin or anyone else who wishes to join this thread...

So Gypsie will continue on with Saturn through the signs. We can discuss any other archetype of Saturn that you wish too. So please let me know your thoughts / ideas of how you would like to proceed.

God Bless, Rad
