SATURN

Sorry for the delay and thank you all for the ongoing efforts.

Aries initiates, Taurus maintains and Gemini expands thru diversification of the mental functions of linear logical processing and the gathering of empirical information. The left brain correlates to Gemini/Virgo and the Third/Sixth Houses and is ruled by Mercury. In Gemini or the Third House the Mercury functions in a masculine way therefore the energy is moving outwards from its own center. Gemini and the Third House work in combination thru polarity with Sagittarius and the Ninth House, which correlates with the intuitive holistic understanding of phenomenal reality. They both correlate to the left and right hemispheres of the brain. Mercury to the left and Jupiter to the right. Gemini collects data and thru Sagittarius it´s synthesized and understood in a philosophical sense and thus correlates to our belief systems.

Relative to the past structural nature of consciousness and the evolution of the Soul thru the realities it creates, Saturn will have a South Node placed in a House and is in Capricorn for all of us alive today. In Capricorn it represents the fact we experience and have been experiencing life on physical Earth for quite some time and it also means that our Souls have experienced the transition from matriarchal times, to un-natural, man made, distorted patriarchal times. We are all reaping the karma for our past distorted actions in varying degrees and collectivell have to take a step backwards in order to be able to progress in a healthier way. This would mean to slow down and reflect on what is really important and essential to our existence and that of the planet, and to make the necessary changes.  With the North Node of Saturn in Cancer, it indicates a need to create societes and realities that are based on more of a familial structure than a corporate one. To turn towards the natural feminine in order to heal and balance out the patriarchal masculine qualities which have been highly distorted. Mass raping of the Earth and its inhabitants are the result of such distortions. We all know too well that we carry a certain sadness and sense of futility because of the way the world system is setup and destroys that which is so essential for all life forms to thrive"¦ the planet itself.

In Aries, Saturn represented the initiation of a new cycle in which the Soul desired to experience itself and reality in a new way. In Taurus it indicates that whatever reality was experienced in the past, as shown by Saturn´s South Node, would be sustained in order to develop one´s ability to survive and consequently to deepen the value system. In Gemini, the structure of consciousness and reality the Soul experiences, is being expanded upon mentally in order to diversify and mutate the  consciousness and reality.

When Saturn is in the Third House or Gemini the consciousness is structured in a way that is inherently mutable and thus adaptable to new experiences while also craving them due to natural, innate curiosity, in order to collect new and varied bits of information so that there can be a greater understanding of phenomenal reaity and an ability to move within the environment, and to communicate ideas and opinions to others, which will only have the effect of increasingly expanding the information one collects, therefore making this placement ideal for a consciousness which desires to continually expand his or her knowledge and mental abilities. This expansion will require hard work, effort, persistance and a lot of reflection. Because of the need to expand and be adaptable, there can be an open and let´s see attitude.

The evolutionary level will be very important in order to understand the type of information the Soul will be collecting and also to how the mental processes will be experienced from within. A Soul in the consensus stage will be collecting information in order to have more knowledge about the system it finds itself in so there can be a progression within that system. In the individuated stage the consciousness will be focused on personal expression and the development of the mind in order to express the individual uniqueness of the personality. In the spiritual stage the Individual will be looking for various ways to understand logically and then to communicate about the ultiimate realities that it interfaces with, as it tries to comprehend them.

In all stages there is a potential to become a teacher because of the hard won, hands on experience with various subjects, disciplines or realities, which can lead to a sense of accomplishment if there is a true effort to study and learn a body of knowledge until it is mastered. Saturn in the Third House or Gemini will also want to deal with tangible knowledge and information which is of practical use.


Due to the need to reflect on one´s own mind in order to expand and mutate into something else, there can be a consciousness that is highly internalized and judgemental and thus also reflects the very same qualities back from the environment in a multitude of ways in order to enforce the necessary lessons of correct judgement. Remembering the fact that we have been creating this patriarchal world based on domination and control for thousands of years, we have all naturally accumulated guilt in various ways. Some of the guilt will be because of natural reasons, such as mistreating other living beings unjustly, and some guilt will be simply the projection of others onto us because of distorted belief systems, which have nothing to do with how life is naturally meant to be. An example of such distortions would be the belief that humans are more important than any other species on Earth and have the right to "tame" nature and/or destroy it at will. Another would be that one race of people is superior to another, or to other life forms on Earth and yet another would be that one gender is superior to another, generally the male gender.

The consciousness may be structured in a way that creates various crisis in order to humble itself due to the natural tendencies for exageration inherent in the Mercury archetype which is in of itself indiscriminate in regards to what information it collects. With Saturn here thou, there can be hard lessons regarding a lack of discrimation relative to what one experiences, what one studies, what one says etc. Saturn in the Third House can naturally be a little mischevous as Gemini is a bit of a trickster and needs to learn maturity. Saturn can pretend and change skin in order to control circumstances, it can be all appearances and look great from the outside but be different on the inside. With Saturn in the Third House there will be a conscious focus and self reflection relative to honesty as the individual interfaces with the environment on a daily basis. Honesty and the lack thereof being constantly a dance of light and darkness within the thoughts of the individual as he or she communicates with others and attempts to express him or herself in a way that is efficient and constructive.

The School of life

With Saturn in the Third House, the consciousness of the individual will be continuosly expanding by learning about anything and everything. From an early age the individual will have defined for him or herself that life itself is all about learning and since it´s Saturn we´re speaking about, the process may feel like a burden at times due to seeing the task as something negative. Saturn can be burdensome in some ways and make the learning process difficult or in some cases there can be actual mental and/or physical disabilities which may difficult the learning experience. Saturn represents strength once we have structured ourselves accordingly and have paid our dues but, until we have grown in maturity and responsibility, where Saturn is located, can represent an aspect of ourselves and our lives that is a heavy burden. The positive side of Saturn in the Third or Gemini is the ability to keep on growing and thus, to one day reach a sense of accomplishment and build something thru the intelligence of the mind or thru teaching younger generations, thru studying and becoming a leading edge academic authority, due to having studied over a long period of time and collecting vast amounts of data, knowledge and in some cases real tangible wisdom. Saturn needs to materialize that which it knows, to crystalize it and therefore the mind will be focused on applicable knowledge in the real world. Knowledge that is tangible and of practical use. In Scorpio, the Mercury function will desire to know about the very inner workings of the mind itself. Some may be attracted to psychology or hypnosis, past lives, the occult or detective work in order to understand human nature.

Saturn is naturally a cardinal archetype which means it is action oriented and when we combine a cardinal planet in a mutable house or sign we will have a very active energetic signature in which the individual is easily bored by a lack of motion, change or stimulus, therefore actively searches to experience various dymanics related to the nature of the archetypes involved. In this case with Saturn in the Third House or Gemini the mind can be highly active, dynamics around communication with others will be highly emphasized in order to structure it´s own personal data base of experiental knowledge and connections. There can be a lot of dealing with others on a daily basis in various ways which will simply be a refleciton of the Souls need to experience a great deal of mental stimulus in the current life in order to master the use of the mind thru hard won experience which leads to the personal and impersonal "know how" the Soul is looking for.  At the same time the Soul may feel the effort is a burden and taxes the system, specially  the nervous system as the Soul then interacts with various others. Some Souls who are very Mercurial can simply be overwhelming to the individual as they can emit high amounts of stressful nervous energy and in combination with Saturnian influences, the way they communicate can be judgemental and feel heavy or tiring to the individual with a Third House Saturn. Saturn here will be reflecting something back to the native who needs to learn lessons about the correct use of mental energy and communication in various ways, such as"¦ not being overly judgemental him or herself when dealing with others. There can also be an almost total lack of communication with others if the Soul is still in the beginning of its learning process in regards to these dynamics. The core issue here is to structure these communicative and mental abilities over time.

Saturn in Gemini will be ruled by Mercury which can be located in any sign of the Zodiac. The sign Mercury is in will give additional information to the way Saturn operates and to how the individual consciousness is structured. Mercury will help to actualize the Saturn archetype and will also condition it. The ruling planet in my understanding also modulates or feeds the planet it rules with its own energy signature, information and archetypal dynamics that lead to a total and unique combination of archetypes operative in the psyche of each and everyone of us. Mercury will also be in a phasal relationship to Saturn which will give additional and important information as to how the Soul empirically experiences its reality and thus defines it for itself. It is also thru this constant mental analysis of reality that over time the individual can accumulate knowledge and information that can then be passed on to others. In some cases the individual may become an authority on a body of knowledge or in a school because of a lifelong effort to learn.


With Mercury which rules Saturn located in Scorpio, we can expect a deepening of the mind that will desire to empower itself thru various means. The mind will be deeply focused on whatever it desires to learn and probe into matters with unrelentless resolve and precision. This is the detective signature, the individual that always asks why and is always trying to uncover the deeper layers of reality as that is where the power usually lays, at the root. This is a mind that when communicating with others is highly focused on the power dynamics between those involved, consciously or subconsciously. This symbol correlates with an individual who due to past life issues of abuse may fear betrayal and being scammed in normal dealings with others and thus be highly suspicious of their motives. Therefore when communicating with others the focus is always on the desires of those who interact with the Scorpio Mercury in order to not be betrayed in any way.
In some cases, depending on evolutionary level, the individual can be so mentally penetrating as to see past lives or their dynamics and other subconscious behaviours people are expressing yet, the other person being observed may be totally unaware of their own motivations. In this case the Third House Saturn is learning boundaries relative to information he or she should share with others and is learning that each individual has their own mental structure and level of awareness that will define their ability to logically understand and then communicate with others.There can be a tendency towards confrontations with others if the individual is too forceful and inflexible due to the rigidity of Saturn and the natural fixed nature of Scorpio.

Along with power dynamics are sexual dynamics and economic dynamics that can be part of the psychological make up of a Soul with this placement. The individual can be very preoccupied with sexual dynamics and economic issues as they relate to power dynamics between people.

On a purely positive note, others may trust the individual as he or she can be highly perceptive and show deep sensitivity to their psychology, they can trust enough to share their secrets with the Saturn in Gemini and Scorpio Mercury if he or she shows a strong sense of personal integrity and keeps hir or her lips shut in regards to sensitive information. The deep experience gained from collecting information about the environment and human nature can lead to wisdom in which the individual can share and guide others on their personal journeys, by helping them define what is practically applicable in their lives and what is essential to their personal evolution.



Physically

Saturn in the Third House or Gemini can correlate to a narrow ear canal as Gemini and the Third House correlate with the anatomy of the ear and Saturn can restrict. There can be a need to learn how to listen to people and thus hearing itself can be an effort and there can be physical defects from birth difficulting the ability to hear. The hearing can suffer damage from trauma as Saturn correlates to physical trauma. Loud sounds can be one reason for this, another can be physical damage from an accident or physical violence. Physical trauma can also be experienced on the right side of the body in general and to the hands, arms and shoulders.There is also a correlation with the nervous system in general along with Uranus therefore many types of disorders can be experienced with this signature, including weakened or damaged nerves, problems ranging from various nervous ticks to increased sensitivity to pain, various problems with the autonomic nervous system. Nervous problems of varios kinds can lead to anxiety and restrict breathing. There can also be memory problems as Gemini and the Third House correlate with short term memory.

Gemini and the Third House are connected to the throat chakra on an energetic level and this chakra correlates with our ability to communicate with others and speak our truth and Saturn to the outer layer of the Root chakra which can indicate the fear of rejection from society contributes to blocks in this energy center. Saturn in Gemini can indicate a throat chakra with energetic blocks stemming from past lives of feeling the weight of social judgement relative to Third House issues and dynamics of communication, intelligence the use of information etc. Death could of occured thru asfixiation, thru drowning, being strangled, decapitation or hanging in previous lives for various reasons, such as speaking one´s truth to the wrong people at the wrong time, thus leaving an energetic imprint or block in the Throat chakra that will need to be dealt with consciously in some way in the current life in order to heal. The throat chakra can be weak due to these past life experiences. There can be tension around the neck and shoulders and lead to cervical pains and issues. In Scorpio there could of also been past lives with a strong sense of powerlessness relative to the ability to communicate which can also lead to current life throat chakra blocks.Therefore the Soul can have a natural, innate fear of expressing its views and opinions because of these past experiences and the individual can be seen as shy or reserved in their use of speech and communication. Some may have a stutter or simply have difficulty learning how to speak or read due to a self judgemental, critical attitude. Even without past life death scenarios, in the current life the Soul may have been somehow repressed or judged by those close by such as parents, siblings or school mates which could of seemed harsh, cold or critical to the child in his or her formative years. This would of helped create a sense of insecurity about the mental and communicative abilities. These harsh judgements and environments will be a reflection of the Soul´s natural fears and boundaries that had been developed in prior lives and thus set up the framework and structural reality in order to continue to develop the mind and communication skills thru discipline and effort in the current life.

Another heavy Saturnian trait can be the fear of letting others down which is also connected to social expectations and morals projected upon the individual which can condition the mental functions. In Scorpio there could of also been past lives with intense verbal violence which can be carried into the current life and also lead to Throat chakra issues. In Scorpio potentail deaths because of the way the Soul expressed itself is doubly emphasized.  Potential reasons for deaths related to the throat chakra could be because of financial dishonesty and abuse of others in various ways and their resources or vice versa.  Another reason could be intense betrayals in relationships in which there could of been infidelities and one partner killed the other upon finding out.

Heavy mental

If the consciousness is highly defined by fear of judgement and guilt in conscious and subconscious ways, the individual can have a heavy mental outlook which can be pessimistic and even gloomy or in extreme cases totally futile and chronically depressive. The heavy mental outlook can lead to all sorts of barriers to communcation with others and the continual inner mental tension can have a taxing effect on the central nervous system. There can be a need to actively strengthen the nervous system and the thought processes. The individual may be prone to be high strung and these conditions are created by the Soul itself as a means to continue its ongoing evolution thru the total structure of its reality, including its physical body. It is also in accepting responsibility for what one experiences and by manifesting constructive thought forms that the Soul can strengthen the nervous system and develop positive communication with others.

Gemini is naturally part of the mutable cross. The individual will collect information, Gemini, in order to define its reality and then how will that information be categorized and put to actual good use through Virgo? The opposition to Sagittarius shows the need to have a deeper understanding other than just following someone´s opinion and that we need to integrate intuition and the right brain holistic understanding into the left brain logical processes in a balanced way. It also indicates the need to have beliefs of our own and honestly adhere to them and follow a body of knowledge or two or three deeply, instead of simply jumping from one subject to another in a superficial way, in an attempt to gather as much info as possible. The square to Pisces shows the need to implement that which is beyond the tangible into one´s total understanding of life.

There can be a fear of not knowing, of being ignorant and of being caught off guard in a situation in which one would need to communicate and would be unable to do so for various reasons such as not speaking the language or speaking to others who do not want to listen or undertsand or conversely when we cannot understand others. Need for personal boundaries with regards to others can create trauma as others can create a wall or be mean or cold to the individual in order for the lessons to be enforced. This will cause the Soul to turn in on itself and reflect on the reasons for those experiences which if sustained can lead to understanding and wisdom.


Opinions can be something that the individual takes seriously. With a Scorpio Mercury the thoughts of the Soul will be highly focused and will attempt to penetrate to the core of whatever it is trying to understand. In communicating with other there will be a tendency to always go straight to the point and uncover any subconscious motivations the others may be having. The Scorpio Mercury will be asking the question "what does he or she want?" when others approach the individual and will usually be on the defensive and suspicious of strangers and their motives. The other question constantly on the mind is the famous Scorpio WHY? Saturn in the Third and Scorpio Mercury are not usually happy go lucky signatures although it doesn´t mean they are always depressive either. Just a serious thinker that likes to go as deep as possible in understanding the environment, human nature and life in general. Sometimes the individual can seem introverted or shy and may very well be but rembering Saturn is a Yin archetype, the individual will be quite reflective in his or her thinking and will like to think things thru with detail and precision in order to know what he or she is getting into beforehand.  There can also be an ongoing nagging sense of personal effort needed when communicating with others who are seen as superficial or senseless. The attachment to opinions formed can also be too rigid and the thought processes themselves can get crystalized/old over time if the Soul doesn´t implement new ways of using the mind and opens up to new ideas, opinions and information. There can be a tendency with Saturn in the Third House to want to define cook book rules for life and apply them to everything as that is a way to feel secure within a defined reality that one can count on. There can be a need to plan in advance when working on projects, travelling or simply doing basic tasks and going places, as the individual will like to define what to do and also know what to count on.

Conditioning

The evolutionary level will be important in determining the type of mental conditioning the Soul/Individual experiences with a Third House Saturn and what type of response there is to the social environment.

In the consensus the individual will basically be conditioned by the opinions of those in authority and will be attempting to learn about life and develop the mind in order to progress within the social shpere in ways that can bring a sense of recognition for the use of his or her intelligence. The mind and intelligence may also be used in order to gain money and therefore status within society. The consciousness will be very curious about how the system it lives in operates and will communicate with others in order to learn more or teach others about various topics relative to how the world systems operate. The individual may desire to be "have culture" as some may say in order to be able to communicate with others about virtually anything and therefore feel a sense of status and security for "being in the know".

In the individuated stage the Individual will want to use his or her mind in ways that reflect his or her individuality and uniqueness. The consciousness may be structured in a way that does its very best to not be influenced or conditioned by any opinions and information others may share, in order to keep on defining his or her thoughts for him or herself. There can be a tendency to look for information, communicate with others and educate oneself in ways that can help promote individual personal expression. In the individuated stage the individual may desire to know a lot about the system too as he or she may criticize it and or wish to improve upon it or feel burdened by how it operates and thus rebel against it using communication. In this stage the Soul is learning the proper use of the mind in his or her own terms and personal way and this vibration can lead to a sense of isolation from others who do not resonate with the individual´s opinions and beliefs.

In the spiritual stage of evolution the individual will be progressively interested in acquiring and structuring knowledge about ultimate reality and how the environment is a refleciton of the psyche. The consciousness will be very curious and desire to empirically understand the spiritual laws that govern existence and how it´s all connected plus the individual cosmic role within it in ways that can be communicated to others. If the individual is a natural teacher he or she will try and find ways to express universal knowledge to others in ways that can have tangible value and impact on their lives for the better.

Where Saturn is located can indicate that "Time" has to be spent on that which is indicated by the archetypal nature of the house and sign it´s located in plus aspects to other planets. This reflects a need for some form of work or effort in order to accomplish whatever is inecessary in order to lay down a foundation for growth and achievement in the physical world.

I have Saturn in the Third House and when I think about what reality is for me, I always come to the conclusion that it is multi layered, relative and can change and evolve as does my perception of it. That makes total sense since the Third House is a mutable house in which the options need to remain open, there´s simply so much out there or in here and "reality" itself is relative to each one of us and our perspectives. Perspective is Pluto and with Saturn in the third House there can be a tendency towards crystalized knowledge in the form of personal opinions that can distort the perception due to the natural inconjunct between Gemini and Scorpio. This means that until the individual takes full responsibility for his or her thinking and puts it to good use, with truth and integrity, aligned with reality, that the perception will itself be distorted.

Duplicity

"You can fool some people sometimes but you can´t fool all the people all the time" Bob Marley.

We all know how Gemini as an archetype can be extremely dishonest and with Saturn, the master of control and authority which will do anything to maintain the upper hand, located in Gemini or the Third House, the individual can simply go thru life telling others whatever they want to hear. Remembering Saturn is connected to our outer appearances and social status, with this placement one may simply tell others whatever benefits the individual him or herself, like a politician tells people anything in order to polish his or her social image. Saturn here can indicate the tendency to suppress and deny information or facts from others or from the self in order to not feel guilt, shame or not to be judged in a negative light.

With this placement of Saturn we can expect to be tested and can´t trick people without expecting it to come back to us some day and face the responsibility of whatever we were trying to get around. Remembering that Gemini is naturallly inconjunct Capricorn, Saturn in the Third House carries the crisis signature in an emphasized way due to being naturally inconjunct the Tenth house too. It can mean many things as would be expected with the Gemini archetype. It can correlate with a Soul which in this lifetime has the karmic and evolutionary need to learn the responsible use of the mind and communication and at the same time feels burdened by the limitations of the mind itself and how people communicate in this day and age. The crisis is amongst other things, related to one´s opinions and the use of our minds in which firstly, no one cares about what our opinions are unless they are socially relevant in some way and secondly, the constant need to commit and stick to things in a serious way, which is naturally antagonistic with the Gemini archetype. Gemini is naturally light and expansive yet Saturn is dark and gloomy most of the time and there is the need to adapt and channel the nervous restlesness of the mind in order build efficiently, instead of continually jumping from one thing to another in a random and superficial way. The difficulty with this placement is to stick with something until it becomes second nature as Gemini and the Third House are naturally superficial and prefer to learn a bit about a lot of subjects instead of going deeply into any one subject as it represents a loss of personal freedom due to the commitment required. Gemini is naturally at the apex of a Yod from Scorpio and Capricorn and here we can see the natural crisis between these archetypes as Capricorn wants to build and in order for that manifest, there is a need to respect social rules, laws and traditions and to act with integrity, not just randomness. Scorpio asks for commitment and depth in order to be able to trust. Both ask for results and proof. These qualities create a crisis and force Gemini to humble itself in order to have any relevance within society and be taken seriously by others.

Gemini can be extremely dishonest in communicating with others. Gemini is known to be the trickster who will tell you whatever you want to hear and with Saturn in the Third House there can be an example in the environment of someone who communicates in such a way that the individual will imitate as an adult. With Saturn the tendency is to keep quiet or to want to dominate the conversation and flow of information in some way and there can be a total lack of honesty if the individual finds that the ends justify the means as can many times be the case with Saturn. Add Scorpio in Mercury and the potential for deep distrust of others due to past life and current life betrayals that can be a reason for the individual to be on the defensive in his or her dealings with others that then can lead to dishonesty and manipulation of others out of a fear of being manipulated.

Gemini can be dishonest because as an archetype it is inherently neutral and the whole mutable cross deals with issues of information and truth. Gemini collects information indiscriminately and knows the relativity of truth therefore this leads to the famous my truth vs your truth as seen by Sagittarius which correlates with personal philosophies and beliefs. Virgo is the need we all have in order to discriminate what is relevant and true or not and Pisces correlates with ultimate truth beyond whatever Gemini thinks based on Sagittarius´s beliefs and Virgo´s analysis because it is the combination of all of them that makes up actual ultimate truth and reality. Saturn in Gemini inherently knows the relativity of truth and therefore can simply choose to omit certain facts or pieces of information in order to come out on top of a discussion and Saturn really likes to be the winner. This placement can also indicate a tendency o distort facts or information relevant to a discussion in order to control the way it goes so it can benefit the individual and his or her objectives. Honesty in communication is simply saying what our experience of a phenomenon is, as it is for us in it´s totality and on the positive side of this placement the Soul can be truly honest with itself and others when it stops being judgemental of itself in a negative way.


Patriarchy

Saturn in the Third will want to have a very strong and stable understanding of reality and will continually work at it in order to progress in the logical understanding of reality. At the same time the individual may feel that it can be a burden, time consuming and hard work to keep on evolving. The Soul can also feel the weight of the patriarchy within the environment in a way that has a negative effect on his or her thinking. Depending on the individual, it can be difficult to live in a city as the environment can be so negative and with this signature the individual may perceive other people to be generally negative. The Scorpio Mercury will make the individual unwavering in his or her decisions because they will be carefully thought of. Everything is planned if possible with a Third House Saturn and with Mercury in Scorpio the ideas will be fixed to the point of being unflexible. This can lead to cutting others off, thinking one is always right or not caring for the opinions of others unless it has a direct connection to what the individual is searching for. Mercury in Scorpio can also be always searching for the bottom line relative to anything and everything.

Guilt can be experienced for abusing resources of others or not managing shared resources in the best way and then not owning up to the responsibility and being dishonest with others in order to avoid the consequences or to avoid facing hard facts. Saturn suppresses and in the Third House it can be indicative of suppression of information in order to control others such as the mainstream media do with their brainwashing propaganda. With Mercury in Scorpio in the individuated and spiritual stages, the individual will progressively understand the nature of the way people communicate and how brainwashed the majority of people are. The individual will progressively be aware that there is much more communication going on than the words coming out of people´s mouths. The individual will look at what people do and not what they say in order to be able to make judgements about others based on factual information he or she gathers and not simply believe blindly in others.
It can also indicate the individual was him or herself suppressed as a child by authority figures in the environment such as older brothers and sisters, teachers, parents, the various government officials and so on. 

Brainwashed

Humans are the only beings on the planet that give their offspring to others, to strangers in most cases, to be "educated". We don´t see animals giving their offspring to other animals to be educated like we give our innocent "sheep" children to the "wolves" to be educated. The level of brainwashing is astrounding on the planet in this day and age as people are conditioned by fear and lies since before they are even born because they are born to parents that themselves are brainwashed. With this placement some people will be excrutiatingly aware of how the human race has been hoodwinked by other humans with the perverted need to control others for their own benefit. It is mostly thru the Mercury/Jupiter functions that people in the patriarchal age have controlled humans for thousands of years either thru brainwashing in various forms such as thru religion, propaganda and education or thru sheer force and trauma. Strangely, people will believe (Jupiter) anything without any real proof or certainty and will disseminate false information that spreads like wildfire (Gemini).


Languages can be something the individual has a hard time learning and adapting to new or foreign languages can be a difficult task. The inherent limitations in the ways people communicate thru the native language can be perceived as something that is incomplete and inedaquate at getting the real message accross to others. There can be a sense of frustration due to feeling that it is futile to attempt to transmit to others exactly what one means due to verbal language being only a small part of how we actually communicate and the fact that we live in societies that rely so much on verbal communications. With effort thou the individual may learn to speak precisely and learn various languages which can be also applied professionally in some cases.  In some cases reality itself can be seen as pure language and communication.

Ignorance is bliss

Depending on evolutionary level and how in tune with his or her nature the individual is, the oppressive weight of the patriarchy can also be sensed and experienced on a day to day basis because of the huge amount of ignorance in the world at large. The sheer amount of dishonesty, governmental propaganda and ignorance can cause the individual to feel cut off from the majority of people as they can be considered dense, dishonest or ignorant. The majority of people being in the consensus stage of evolution simply do not question the media propaganda or the schooling system that forms children into adult robots that serve a system vested in keeping people dumb and in a state of vulnerability due to fear and thus are also highly suggestible. The consciuousness of the individual can be fear based due to the authorities being oppressive and judgemental in order to control the population and the individual may have a hard time integrating because of the distorted way of seeing the world that the majority of people share. The fact of the matter is that with knowledge comes responsibility and it´s not easy to be totally responsible for what we think, it´s easier to ask the doctor, the teacher, the judge or the news channel to do the thinking for us because, for the vast majority of people on Earth today, ignorance is bliss.

Education and schooling can be experienced as something that is totally out of reach, lacking in some way, obsolete or a burden with long hours, a lot of expectations from parents and/or teachers, inherent difficulties in learning certain subjects, feeling cut off from classmates due to shyness or a lack of communicative skills.

On the move

Mobility is another dynamic that is connected to Gemini and the Third House is known to be connected to short trips. Saturn in the Third House can sometimes correlate with a restriced ability to be mobile or can be accident prone due to the need to learn about healthy boundaries in relation to physical movements or the way one walks or drives a vehicle. With Saturn in the Third House daily trips such as those to school and work can be considered lengthy, boring or time consuming. The way one interacts with the environment can be quite negative and tiring as the personal mentality can be negative in dealing with whatever reality presents itself. In a patriarchal system the individual may feel the pollution of a city, the constant stress and cold way of interrelating between people due to their constant need to be on "Time" to be depressing.

Free your mind

"Free your mind and the rest will follow" is full of truth and wisdom. The mind is a powerful thing that can be a tool to help make intelligent choices and interact with the environment or it can be like a monkey wrecking havoc. With Saturn in the Third or Gemini the Soul may have to learn to go beyond the mind by being free of fear based thought forms which limit the ability for the Soul to experience deeper layers of itself. For people that meditate it´s common to try and go deep within yet the mind is constantly at work and doesn´t allow for enough relaxation in order to do so. There can be a fear of the unkown and the mind can play all sorts of tricks on the individual in order to stay in a secure place that is stable and structured. The trick is to let go in order to experience the unknown. In order for Saturn in Gemini to really grow mentally and in it´s interaction with the environment, freedom of the mind from it´s own limitations and conditioning is important. The implementation of it´s polarity, Sagittarius is essential thru the understanding and alignment with natural law. This means working with nature and learning from it instead of trying to dominate and control it.

"Out Here On My Own"
Saturn in Cancer/4th House
Moon in Aquarius

As we learned with Saturn in Gemini, there is a limit to what the mind can access, and the only vehicle for the evolution of the Soul is the emotional body. With that said, Cancer follows, symbolizing the evolutionary need to 'go there', to go beyond the limits and boundaries put in place to protect the most vulnerable center. Souls with this signature are learning to find a way to feel safe enough to feel all the way through a feeling, to ultimately find strength in this space, leading to security within themselves. Saturn in Cancer/ 4th house is a cardinal archetype and thus represents a chapter is closing and a new evolutionary chapter is birthing itself. Because of the new, these Souls will be highly emotionally vulnerable and inwardly wobbly in the world, in essence they are learning how to walk emotionally, similar to a baby taking its first steps, so their growth will become a two steps forward, one step back process.

For these Souls, Everything is felt first. Emotions speak volumes for the Saturn in Cancer Soul. Because everything is felt with greater sensitivity, there is a great fear of vulnerability and they will do everything they can to protect themselves from potential emotional hits. In most cases, they will attempt to build a fortress around their feeling being, similar to a crab returning to its home in the hard shell. They will tend to suppress and repress the tender feeling content as they have not developed the security and strength to support this kind of exposure to the world. The suppression over time has consequences, for 'whatever is repressed, becomes distorted'. Imagine submerging a plastic beach ball under water in a swimming pool, the beach ball symbolizing a ball of emotion. The deeper one attempts to stuff the ball down within the already watery content, and the longer one attempts to control the ball of emotion, the harder it is to hold onto. At some point, and seemingly out of nowhere, that ball will dart out unexpectedly and hit someone in the head, creating conflict where it otherwise could have been prevented.

I am reminded further of a quote from JWG that I heard more than once, words that brought me to my knees a time or two, a message that has proven to inspire at critical turns.  He said, "Do you have any idea how much energy it takes to repress what is natural?" This truth bellowed in my inner halls as I accessed the weight that was strapped to my back. It's like trying to swim with your clothes on. It can create a tremendous drag, and it requires far more energy and breath simply to keep your head above water. What is more natural than the pure emotion that surfaces for any Soul? For that emotion to have a chance of promoting a healthy evolutionary flow, it cannot be contained, it needs a release point. What these Souls are learning or perhaps remembering is that water is the great giver of life. It is far easier to go with the flow than to fight the tides. When we attempt to fight the current, we lose, or we exhaust every feeling resource in attempt to fight or deny what lives within us. For example, once a body surfer is IN the wave, and one with it, is impossible to fight it, the surfer must ride the wave to completion until they are ready to return to the sea and catch another.

It can be a lonely road for Souls with this signature as they have designed an intentional structure for themselves that is destined to continually throw them back upon themselves. It may have been that in other lives there was an excessive co-dependency, seen with the square to Libra, similar to a child that never grows up, a Soul who is always depending on others for their emotional well being. In many cases, this signature can reflect an adult that is trapped at the age of youth because of traumas that occurred, creating a freeze in their emotional development. Very early on, the Soul will be learning lessons in emotional self reliance, lessons in learning how to self provide in every way, not looking to anything outside of themselves for validation and feedback, not looking to anything outside themselves to complete them. This occurs as a result of a lack of nurturing by one or both parents and will continue on in their life in the form of various relationships as they continue to learn emotional lessons along these lines.  At any point, if there is an expectation set in seeking love from another, the famous rug will ripped beneath their feet. Anytime they lean too hard or become emotionally needy in any way, they will find the mirage of support crumbles. The bottom line, is that we all attract where we are at. So if these Souls are vibrating with an energy of emotional lack, then they will attract someone who is also incapable of offering them this need in return. It can be one of the most difficult signatures to inwardly endure, the feeling of being surrounded by others, yet feeling unseen and totally alone. An ongoing emotional gravity will undoubtedly and yet necessarily ensue,  an inner realism that never feels to lift or to allow these Souls to escape the confines of their inner life, as much as they would like to. It will feel as if an anchor has held them at bay in the watery harbor and they are being forced to swim and steep in shifting emotional seas. As soon as the Soul learns how to supply their own emotional needs and to tend to their own inner aches, they will strengthen from the inside out versus trying to make it happen the other way around, an approach that will only forever leave them feeling empty.

Culture/Family

Because these Souls are learning to develop emotional security within, while minimizing their dependence on external influences, they will be born into families where one or both parents produces a variety of emotional shocks, where the child is repeatedly thrown back upon itself and required to provide their own emotional needs. This can be extremely challenging for a child who is naturally vulnerable and so intimately impacted by their early upbringing to not have parents who are aware of what they need, nor are are they are even capable of providing, in some cases, even the most basic nurturing needed. The parents can be cold and rigid and perhaps only making a choice to have kids because that is what everyone else is doing, not because they have any real desire for the children they brought into the world. The parents in this case, can project the feeling of being burdened by the child, which increases the child's feeling of being unwanted and unloved. In essence, these Soul are learning to parent themselves, to establish their own inner authority, and to find ways to nurture and feed their own inner landscapes.

Considering Saturn conditions all of the planets, including Pluto, it would not be uncommon for these Soul to have a difficult Soul history with one or both parents, whereby there are unresolved karmic issues that are in the process of being worked out and through. As a result, this can lead to compulsive emotional behavior patterns that are carried forward into this life, and it would take very little to trigger a deeply painful emotional response. It may at the onset  'appear' minor but these Souls have been collecting emotions that have been building over time, emotions linked with a lack of nurturing and understanding. What intensifies these emotions, is their unconscious expectations of how they feel they need to be nurtured and cared for, yet it is important to consider that the parents interpretation of their nurturing may be very different than what the child expects and therefore projects.

By the time the Soul hits this life, their feeling of insecurity can be so great, it can feel like a bottomless pit in terms of how much nurturing is needed, in order to feel secure. One or both parents may not even be able to come close to delivering the nurturing that this Soul needs, and the reasons may be legitimate, as in both parents requiring to work full time to cover the expenses of the family. The parents in some cases may desire to be home more for the child, yet circumstances connected with monetary survival prevent this from happening. This will force the child to grow up fast, or become responsible quite young. Other cases where the child is forced to grow up fast may be a result of being an only child. It intensifies further, if the only child only has one parent present.  I have a client with Saturn in the 4th who is an only child and who lost his father quite young. Following his father's death, his mother would dress him up in a suit and take him out to dinner, as he became the defacto partner and the sit in husband at the age of seven. This did not allow him to naturally mature, to work through the emotions that surfaced at different growing ages, as he was never allowed to be a kid. His emotional process was stunted and as an adult, he became the classic 'little boy in a man's body'. He did not have the first clue how to emotionally relate to his partners, because so many steps were skipped in his emotional development. He would create ongoing traumas that demanded he look at himself, forcing him to open doors his mother had forced him to keep closes. He was learning to take responsibility for all the relationships that he set in motion.

Another scenario with this Saturn in Cancer/4th house signature may be a Soul who attracts one or both parents who are very strict, parents who totally control and dominate their time and their life. The parents may be choosing activities that they want for the child versus what the child wants for themselves. They may do everything in their power to not allow the child to grow up, and the child will feel limited and in some cases smothered by the parent. The parents(s) in this case may be emotional children themselves and may seek out the comfort of their child, as if this child would know the first thing to do, emotional dilemmas that the child does not have capacity to handle. This could be a life where the Soul in question with Saturn in Cancer in the 4th was a parent to their own parent in another time, and the roles in the current life were reversed, in some case serving as an undesirable karmic kick back.

In addition to attracting partners that may mirror the parents, they may also attract others like themselves that are an emotional infantile and not able to remotely relate or give them what they need emotionally, this becomes their reality once again, in order to continue to re-enforce the lesson of emotional self reliance. "Emotional tantrums and periods of withdrawal, crying 'wolf' or feigning desperation" may also be used to try and manipulate others in order to get what they need. Extreme fluctuations of their moods can occur as quickly as the moon changes signs, hence the term 'moody' connected to the archetype of Cancer', and they can revert to the little child, wondering what they did to find themselves in this reality.

Because these Soul have been doing what they can to protect themselves, they have in turn repressed an enormous weight of emotion, causing emotional suffocation and intense frustration because they are not allowing their feelings to flow, they are not expressing their emotions and expectations. Many will even deny they have the emotions to begin with, for if they are not there, then I do not have to feel them or deal with them. Yet because these Souls are pure emotion as every planet is infused with the moon, they are intrinsically sensitive and vulnerable and have a legitimate need to be touched, which can lead to emotional suffocation.

Commonly, these Soul who have been holding in and holding back, may attract others who they can control, attracting weak and vulnerable others who are suffering from the very same unmet emotional needs. They may attract these types in order to feel strong and secure, which is not feeding or strengthening them at all. They would forever be working on the other person's weakest spot in order to secure their position in the relationship and guarantee a position of dominance, so the other Soul never attempts to make a getaway. Obviously in this case, emotional denial does not equal security, and the furthest thing from emotional fulfillment. In the end, the emotional reactions of the Saturn in Cancer/4th, can cyclically swing between two extremes. They can alternate between seeking out places and people whom they unconsciously expect to fulfill their emotional needs in a childlike way, or they can seek environments and others who they can control and dominate in order to have their unresolved emotional issues fulfilled in that way, so that others come to depend on them.

Saturn in Cancer, Moon in Aquarius

Further scenarios that would trigger feeling unloved or a total lack of nurturing would be in situations where the Soul was adopted, or essentially transferred and disposed of to an alternative family, adoption connects to Aquarius, generating the feeling of being unwanted, unlovable, due to being given away by their very own parents. The Moon in Aquarius could also ring true for a Soul who felt like a fish out of water or a total alien in the context of the family they were born into, a true rebellion from their family of origin may take place. It takes an extreme to counteract an extreme, or an extreme in order to objectify one's individual makeup, to claim it as their own, and in discovering they are simply 'not cut from the same cloth'.

As a result of the sustained lack of nurturing, in many cases, these Soul will undoubtedly experience emotional displacement, whereby they form relationships with others who they unconsciously expect to tend to their unmet needs. In essence, these needs are emotional needs of a child. As a result, others may treat them like children, for that is the energy they they are emitting. All of the emotional pain of the past becomes projected onto others in varying degrees and the closer one gets to the Saturn in Cancer/4th house, the more intense the projections can be.

In intimate partnerships, especially earlier in life, the Saturn in Cancer Soul will unconsciously attract partners who mirror one or both of their parents. Because the psychological make-up is the same, the displaced need goes unfulfilled. This will become a broken record reality until they emotionally mature, minimizing or eliminating all together, all external dependencies. Not until they essentially come to understand WHY they continue to find themselves in these situations will the story change. With the ruler, the Moon in Aquarius, the energy would lend itself to a more objective emotional make-up so they can observe their ways in the world, with the intention to come to understand where and how they can change, making the necessary adjustments, to come to know how to feed the inner void. It will take learning to cultivate a strong inner base, looking to no one to COMPLETE them, before their own inner vibratory nature shifts and they can begin attracting others who reflect their true co-equal. They will learn over time, that they must learn to become their own best friend, Moon in Aquarius, to offer inner advice and support to themselves, as they would when observing a friend suffering from a similar repeating trend.

Gender

To evolve, we all must switch gender, in order to actualize both sides of gender. The 4th House, Cancer, and the Moon, all correlate to the Jungian psychological dynamic called the anima/animus. This dynamic is linked with the fact that we are all intrinsically male and female. In order to evolve, we must all experience the polarity of being both male as well as female. Because the psychological and experiential orientation to life will be different for a male and a female, it can take some lifetimes to fully integrate one side of gender, the ultimate goal being to unite both sides of gender equally, to the point where the Soul appears male and female at the very same time, a Soul who has fully actualized and integrated the whole. Advanced Souls in the Spiritual State share this quality.

One critical factor that may be a result of the emotional swings seen with this signature, may be due to the Soul switching genders in recent lives or in the most recent life, or they may be preparing to do so. The reality of landing in a new gender in society will greatly impact the emotional reality of this Soul, in terms of the expectations of the parents and society with respect to their roles here. To be experiencing for the very first time, a life in a new gender, can create a high degree of vulnerability, as if they were dropped into a foreign land, not knowing a Soul, and not speaking the same language. Gender switch can be seen in combination with others symbols, such as Pluto in the 4th or 10th, the nodes in either the 4th or 10th house or the nodes being in Cancer or Capricorn.

This may also prove to be problematic when considering partnerships, if for example the Soul just came out of a male form and was attracted to women in past lives, yet is now in a female form, the natural tendency and desire for this Soul would be to attract women again. While there is nothing unnatural about being attracted to one;s same gender, it will requite more courage in the world, as it will require additional inner strength to combat the biases and judgments from society toward the gay and lesbian culture and the ongoing need for these Souls to fight for their equal rights. Saturn in Cancer, Moon in Aquarius, being that Aquarius is about taking a unique or alternative path, going against the grain, not the mainstream way, would very much apply here.

Guilt

This Soul may have chosen to be born with Saturn in Cancer or Saturn in the 4th due to a feeling of guilt where they nay have dropped the ball in another time with their own children and family, thereby not taking responsibility for their parenting role, perhaps being too harsh, controlling or strict. They may be feeling the karmic hit in return, so they know firsthand, the feeling of not being seen, nurtured or held. It may be too that there were countless conditions linked with how they gave and what was granted and gifted. The classic, "I will love you if." They may have been extremely tough on their own children and now they are receiving those hits in return. Ultimately these Souls will be feeling guilt for not being enough, guilt for being unlovable, feeling in many cases as if they deserve to be unloved, and yet asking in the same breath, "What did I do to deserve this?" Depending on the state of evolution, some Souls will feel as if they have done something to deserve the emotional nurturing wasteland. They will know deep in their bones, that it came back to haunt them for good reason. But this won't be true in all cases, many with this signature will simply be needing to learn how to make it on their own, in every way. There may not be some karmic retribution happening, simply the need to have the courage to access real emotion, to inwardly mature and in essence, to grow up.


Saturn in Cancer/4th Full Phase Opp to the 10th house

The Saturn in Cancer Soul  matures and evolves through self determination and in learning to accept one's own responsibility in his own actions, leading to emotional maturity. The child here is becoming the adult. The Soul is learning how to integrate their own sense of personal authority and individuality in the context of society. The way these Souls feel validated and establish their own sense of self, is by projecting themselves out into the world, gaining status by climbing society's mountain. They learn these lessons by earning the status of being recognized by others in the working world as being 'somebody.' They become filled up by feeding their own selves and by earning their way there, one step at a time. They learn that everyone has a story, everyone suffers and everyone has needs, not just them. Individual meaning must now be given a social context. It must be related to and shared with others, an evolutionary purpose in a way that is needed by others. They must evolve to the point where they are learning to listen to the needs of others, to understand that they are equals. When their own inner reality has matured, they can be tremendously compassionate regarding the suffering of others, for 'they have been there', they are there, they know the feeling, which can make them very relate-able once they have matured.. They are empaths, deeply sympathetic and incredibly loyal to those close to them.

However, they may also feel via this opposition that they are losing control of their destiny and the power to shape that destiny, from an egocentric point of view. They are learning to develop a more socialized and expanded awareness of consciousness, to be pulled out of their 'own world'. If they resist, they will only return to the past, and negative controlling behaviors will ensue. They must surrender to a socialized context, considering the needs of all people equally and to give their work a social purpose. They are ultimately learning to surrender personal will for the sake of  higher will, expanding their understanding of the bigger picture seen int the trine to Pisces, 12th house.

CAREER

Consensus

With a focus on the home, women, the womb and the belly, many Souls with Saturn in Cancer, 4th house will be attracted careers in these areas, including real estate, interior design, running or owning a Bed & Breakfast, Marketing and PR for womens beauty lines including make-up and skin products. It could very well equal a woman working in a man's corporate world. There may be an interest in hotel management or apartment complex management, as well a Restaurateur, or a career working in the grocery business. Looking specifically at the Moon in Aquarius, the Soul could be drawn to work in social services,  director of a woman's shelter, home placement for foster children or an adoption agency. A doctor specializing in woman's health or a specialist offering in-vitro fertilization or an OB/GYN may also apply here.

Individuated State

As the Soul evolves, they may be drawn to more alternative forms of healing and areas of nursing such as midwifery. The specific healing draw is seen with the trine to Pisces as the focus is on helping others 'feel' better. When we feel better physically, we tend to feel better emotionally. The same is true the other way around. Souls in this state may be drawn to doing energy work, especially with the Moon in Aquarius, such as Reiki, or interested in being an astrologer. Souls in this stage may desire to work in alternative fields of food. A client of mine with Saturn in the 4th , Sun in Aquarius in the 3rd , opened a vegetarian and vegan cafe, juice and smoothie bar in New Jersey, in an area where people were more drawn to smoke and drink in the local bar at lunch or after work. She has brought an alternative concept for filling the belly with fresh organic blended fruits and vegetables, along with healthy and hearty foods such as warm homemade soups, comfort foods that can better sustain the body and the Soul's of the people in this old fashioned town. The business is now booming. She is getting orders from corporations to cater soups, salads, smoothies and green drinks in for their business meetings as well as daily orders from healthy hungry clients, in place of fast food and donuts.

Spiritual State

Within the spiritual state, there is a focus on service, a Virgo vibe, and on working to clean up this world and make it a little better than they found it. An Evolutionary Astrologer would apply hear as the as well as a Vegan Chef in a Spiritual Center  as the saying goes, "You are what you eat" and  "Your body is a temple."Yoga teachers would also apply hear as the majority of yoga poses involve a heart opening posture, but in essence yoga was originally intended  for opening the body up to receive and connect with the eternal pulse of Spirit.
Sri Daya Mata, who was the Head of Spiritual Organization or Hermitage, and a 3rd stage spiritual example has SN, Pluto and Saturn in Cancer. She the was spiritual head and president of Self-Realization Fellowship/Yogonanda Satsanga Society of India from 1955 until her passing in 2010. She was brought to SRF by her mother when she was a young girl, and Yogananda took her under his wing.  Yogananda entrusted his center and his work to this disciple and although she made choices in her mind that were to protect the teachings, she took her Saturn authority too far,  becoming a controlling gatekeeper for pure intended disciples and followers of Yogananda who were only interested in disseminating Yogananda's teachings. Even at this stage she was working through her own evolutionary lessons in giving, sharing and including versus harnessing too much control at the helm.

FROZEN

The combination of Saturn in Cancer, and the ruler Moon in Aquarius can require a serious game plan in order to enter the emotional world of these souls. This lock is rooted in the tremendous trauma from the past as well as in the early life, which has caused these Soul to become emotionally frozen. Whenever any Soul has been through a traumatic experience, as in witnessing people that they love being wiped out tragically, it can cause the Soul to literally go into shock, where everything in the nervous system stops. It's like watching a car accident, it can literally take your breath away when you see the crash coming and there is literally nothing in the world that you can do to stop it. This creates a short circuiting in the nervous system, an intermittent signal, similar to staccato in music. It can create total emotional disconnect and Souls with this signature will come into this life with PTSD, Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome. In order to survive and carry on in some capacity, these Souls will intsinctually detach from their emotions, and observe their life as if they were watching a movie. This can also prove to be problematic when in relationships, as the partner may feel as if 'no one is home'. Even in physical intimacy, in order to avoid the emotional body, these Souls can be so far removed from the act, it can feel to the partner as if they are somewhere else, separated from the scene.
Uranus, the ruler for Aquarius, connects to long term memories, and the long term memories for us all are held in the cellular make-up. It may take repeatedly accessing these memories through contacts with key others who trigger the emotional traumas from the past, in order to heal what has become so frozen, in essence, to DE-FROST and recover, in order to fertilize their emotional wasteland.

Saturn in Cancer, Moon in Aquarius, symbolizes emotional trauma and the sudden loss of someone cherished and loved, where the Soul was abandoned and left utterly alone. Singer/song writer Mindy Smith in her song, "One Moment More", expresses the water trine beautifully within these lyrics, reflecting the palpable pain of loss. Mindy Smith was also adopted, South Node, Mars and Venus in Cancer, Moon in Aquarius, Saturn in the 4th.

There can be a fear of losing love or losing those they love, a fear so deep that it can intercept the moment, it can supersede love in those moments. The loss in other times may have generated greater tendencies toward attachment, so they grip harder and can desperately hold onto those for dear life. However, this also creates a smothering, which may cause others to flee.

Saturn in Cancer Souls are pure emotion, remembering the energy of Cancer is permeating every other planet. But with the Moon in Aquarius, this creates a separation from the emotion, an emotional distance, and they can come across as not present or that they do not really care. This occurs in order to minimize attachment to others and attachment to outcomes for fear of losing it all once more.

Yogananda teaches...

God takes loved ones from our lives, so we don't stop seeking God, so we don't get confused and think the happiness that we are experiencing comes from another. The search must continue until we come to know for ourselves that this unconditional love can only be found within. He knew this truth for himself for at a tender age of 11, he lost his beloved mother. The pain was palpable in the pages of his sharing. "Years passed before any reconciliation entered my heart. Storming the gates of heaven, my cries at last summoned the Divine Mother. Her words brought final healing to my suppurating wounds. "It is I who have watched over thee, life after life, in the tenderness of many mothers. See in my gaze the two black eyes, the lost beautiful eyes, thou seekest!" He writes in Autobiography of a Yogi, that his earthly mother had to be taken so he could learn to access the Heavenly Mother, Moon in Leo in the 12th house, trine Venus/Mercury in the 4th in Sagittarius. The ruler Jupiter in Aries in the 8th. His 4th house Mercury in Sagittarius is the ruler of his Pluto, which is the ruler of his 4th house cusp.

Clarissa Pinkola Estes, a Soul with Saturn in Cancer, and who found her home in the woods in nature,  said it so well in her book, Women Who Run With the Wolves. "Redemption heals a once open would. But there will be a scar nevertheless. With changes in the weather the scar can and will ache again. That is the nature of true grief. Although there will be scars, and plenty of them, it is important to remember that in tensile strength and ability to absorb pressure, a scar is tougher than skin."


Saturn in Cancer Retrograde

Saturn Rx is similar to pruning a tree to remove the dead wood in order to give it new life. As with all retrogrades, the intention is to de-condition and accelerate the evolutionary momentum of the Soul. Th retrograde signature mimics the archetype of Aquarius, so with the ruler Moon also in Aquarius, it would be double charged and increase the potential for rebellion, a Soul who would continually challenge any pre-existing limitations. This would also further represent a Soul who would need to recreate prior life dynamics in the context of the current life, the intent with which is to make new choices, thus evolve, in the face of the new circumstances that trigger old dynamics. Evolutionary speaking, it is to remove one conditioning layer at a time.

If Saturn is in Cancer for a Consensus Soul, being that the Consensus equals a majority, 75% ,of the population, these Souls will typically compensate by creating the 'appearance' or normalcy. Compensation can lead to sickness in the skeleton as in arthritis and back pain and it can degenerate into immune problems. Being that Saturn is in Cancer, it can also effect the the stomach and overall digestion regulation. For the individuated, 20 % of the population would get off by thumbing their noses at the system and may go well out of their way to make a statement of rebellion for they may feel as if they have nothing left to lose anyway. The Spiritual State Soul would come to realize that the only way forward is to go deeply within, and to address and deal with all of their own unresolved emotional traumas, to take responsibility for the realities they have created , understanding why they have manifested as to evolve, so they could be a vessel to help others who have suffered in similar ways.

They will be need to access and express one's own individual make-up at any and all costs, even if it leads to being a group of one. They will experience a social alone-ness and will not feel to fit in anywhere, to continue to re-enforce lessons of self reliance. Saturn Rx in Cancer can create an inner haunting, so much so, they may appear to be in a constant state of mourning. Saturn retrograde Souls can also tend to brood, dwell and meditate with morbid persistency.

Retrograde planets attempt to breakdown the barrier between the conscious and the unconscious so images can come forth. Saturn is what you are consciously aware of, this points to Uranus, the threshold of the unconscious. When Saturn Rx is retrograde, the natural threshold or barrier is not very strong. The individuated unconscious, represented by Uranus, contains three specific kinds of information: 1)that which you suppress by way of Saturn, what you don't want to deal with and refuse to deal with 2) memories in total detail of this life and past lives ( long term memory versus short term, seen with Mercury) 3) abstract information which pertains to the Soul's longer- free-er future - this is why Saturn and Uranus are antithetical to each other.

With Saturn retrograde in Cancer, especially when the ruler, the Moon, is in Aquarius, there will be an emphasis on the need to grab a hold of this content and to finally and freely express one's own unique individuality, creating a structure that supports the eclectic, the eccentric, the avante-garde, as well as plenty of room for innovation and ingenuity. There will be a need to experiment on alternative realities that no one else has discovered or erected for themselves. There will be a need here to revolutionize the crystallized structures of the Saturn realty that this Soul has previously put into place.

Ultimate Strength lies in the Vulnerability

Because there is great fear of losing emotional control, an absolute fear of accessing hard memories and of having to endure this trauma again, these Souls will do all they can to defend this emotional center. Remember however, how much energy it takes to defend and repress versus to let it flow. These Souls are learning that Ultimate Strength lies in the vulnerability. There is nothing more attractive in the world for any Soul than to simply be who they are, openly expressing their natural emotion, whatever it may be. Vulnerability is not about being weak, it is about being open, and it is about finding strength in those soft and supple places, accepting in full who they from the inside out. Some of this fear in place will be linked to what other people think or feel about them, a fear of being judged or put down in some way. Yet the very intention with this signature is the need to go deep, trine to Scorpio, and to emerge whole, exactly as the Soul was designed to be. The question to ask is, "What are you more afraid of? Who you are? Or who someone wants you to be?" It comes down to trusting in that pure pulse of emotion that naturally defines you versus emotion resulting from the conditioned expectations of others. It is about tuning into the pure emotion that flows from God, the river that leads you home, back to the safety of the sea.

By exposing the tender under belly and embracing the sensitive emotional realm, it is in this space where ultimate strength as well as ultimate meaning, trine to Pisces, can be found. By removing the Saturn casing, one layer at a time, more of the natural vibratory nature will emanate. Nothing will free this Soul up more than to walk to the beat of their own Aquarian drum, where self reliance is in place, dependence on others is removed, square to Libra, as well as looking to others for a feeling of acceptance and place in the world.

Souls with Saturn in Cancer, 4th house, are learning to access the emotional courage to cry. Tears relax the nervous system, over time, the watery element will wear down the outer casing and open the Soul up vibrationally, allowing their true essence to be revealed.

A foundational EA teaching, which any Soul  can validate for themselves via their own life experience, is that the Soul can only truly evolve through the emotional body, in other words, you must take leap and a risk, square to Aries, you must jump IN and get wet in order to swim. We look to the water trinity to follow this path, similar to a river finding its way to the sea. The river always follows the path of least resistance as it makes it way back to the sea, or what we call God ~ Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces.

Saturn in Cancer/4th House Souls are not alone in their emotions, as everyone will experience the emotional gravity of this reality when transiting Saturn crosses the IC as well as when Saturn transits the 4th house. The weight of one's experience will be directly linked to how much is being repressed along with the degree of the personal lessons involving emotional security, self responsibility and self reliance. I remember years ago, a day following a dreadful dark night of the Soul, I was hollow, cored out, exhausted and had literally run out of tears. I had not eaten, nor slept and company was set to arrive, something I could not postpone for this is also about taking responsibility for other people's realities and not just your own. I pulled on some jeans and a t shirt, and did not even take the time to run a brush through my hair. A friend of mine walked through the door, the first to arrive, and her first words to me were, "I have never seen you look so beautiful." I was shocked. I did not even have enough energy to crack a smile, but it came. I had reached a place of full surrender, Cancer trine to Pisces, and the freedom of letting go allowed me to suspend somewhat in space. However, the very last thing I felt was beautiful. I found a mirror, mildy curious, but also afraid to look, and I realized in that moment, as my eyes came into view, that what my friend saw was my Soul, nothing more and nothing less, Cancer trine to Scorpio. There was absolutely nothing left to hold anything up or back. Ultimate strength was found that day, in the deepest spaces of vulnerability.

North Node of Saturn in Cancer

Everyone on the planet today has a North Node of Saturn in Cancer. The planetary Node teaching for this signature, considering all of our South Nodes of Pluto, Saturn and Jupiter are in also Capricorn, reflecting the rigid societal conditioning and patriarchal push of the past,  Saturn/Capricorn connects to the Patriarchy, and the Moon/Cancer connects to the Matriarchy, these symbols suggest that all Souls were on earth at some point during the transition between the matriarchy and the patriarchy, spanning over 2,000 years, so we all have long term memories deep in our Aquarian cells of what is was like to live in a more naturally balanced society. For Souls who are essentially 'new', they will feel these truths via osmosis from those who have been there, considering we all have Neptune (the collective unconscious) in Aquarius. A North Node of Saturn in Cancer says, we are all headed home, but in order to go forward, we must go back, in order to evolve we must return home to our mother root, the matriarchy, seen with the North Nodes of Pluto, Saturn and Jupiter in Cancer. We must go back to recover the teachings of that time, in order to better move forward. We won't necessarily be living primitive lives again (although you never know) but we will be re-accessing the natural teachings of Mother Nature, not only because our evolution depends on it, but for the species and the planet to survive, for nothing can be sustained when a planet is driven with consciousness of separation and exclusion, a patriarchal reality, the 'us' versus them reality that breeds ignorance and intolerance between people and cultures.

When we think of the matriarchy, seen with the symbol of Cancer, we remember a time when life on planet earth was in greater balance, when women were praised and celebrated for their inner power, strength and and natural capacities to lead and to heal, when men were accessing emotion in a more balanced way. Women, emotion and the feminine were not repressed, they were naturally expressed in full.

Jungian Analyst, post-trauma specialist and author, Clarissa Pinkola Estes, born to Mexican parents and adopted by immigrants from Hungary in rural Indiana, who's natal Saturn RX in Cancer in the 11th, reminds us of the truth of the power of the wild woman, how she has become silenced and snuffed out, and our need to bring her back in her book, "Women Who Run With the Wolves." Her Pluto in Leo forms an inconjunct (156 degrees) to her SN, Mercury and Mars in Capricorn in the 6th house, ruler Saturn Rx in the 11th in Cancer, reflecting her role as a messenger, working to force an adjustment, with the intention to awaken human consciousness to return to that which is natural.
