Okay I was reading this article in this website with the name 'The 6th house and Issues in Self Improvement that Allows the Soul to Grow'. And there was this part about using the planetary ruler of the sign on 6th house for self improvement. So in that way the 6th house planetary rulers for  each rising sign will be as follows.


Aries rising - Mercury
Taurus rising - Venus
Gemini rising - Pluto
Cancer rising- Jupiter
Leo rising - Saturn
Virgo rising - Uranus
Libra rising - Neptune
Scorpio rising - Mars
Sagittarius rising - Venus
Capricorn rising - Mercury
Aquarius rising - Moon
Pisces rising - Sun

So based on the article, the way to get out of a rut is to just focus on the area of life specified by these planets based on the rising sign? Is it that simple? Or is my interpretation of what is written in the article wrong? In my case I am a Leo rising so all I have to do is become more responsible and serious (in Saturn house)?

Yes I told it in terms of rising sign because 6th house sign is same for all people with a specific rising sign.

It is possible to have a sign intercepted in the 6th House creating a different planetary ruler than what you have presented. The sign Capricorn could be intercepted for example, thus Sagittarius on the 6th cusp creating Jupiter as the planetary ruler. Just make is simple an look at the actual sign on the 6th House cusp.

Thank you. Did not know about interception before. So it is possible for a sign to be totally inside a single house.  It doesnt look geometrically possible in the online birth chart calculators that I usually use. Because the circumference of the house quadrant is same as the circumference of the sign quadrant. Can you suggest me a good calculator which also gives interception in charts?

Hk980p, one thing that might be confusing you are the various house systems employed.

The system we use here is the porphyry house system. Other systems such as whole sign houses will in fact create houses to each be 30 degrees long and start the first house with zero degrees of whatever sign is rising. According to that system, which excludes the possibility of interception, what you presented makes sense. Otherwise in most house systems the sign on the 6th house does not always mean an even 150 degrees from whatever sign is on the AC as depending on the lattitude of a person's birth, some houses can be very large and others very small.
