Hello all!

I have to confess that since I started reading about EA, I began to feel piss off and overwhelmed with the arquetipe of capricorn, saturn etc... Despite seeing the necessity for structure... All this repression of emotions, patriarchal power, oppression and so on make my mind interpret capricorn as the enemy number one.  In the individual and in the collective. I still feel it in that way despite I try to integrate it. But...

... Today I was touch by this video of capricorn, and I just wanted to share it with you, its beautiful!

And this beautiful video of the Ibex also reflects one of the greatest archetypes within Capricorn, Saturn, and the 10th House: ABSOLUTE DETERMINATION NO MATTER WHAT. To never give up.

This is the chart of Alex Honnold, known for being the only person to have climbed free solo 'El Capitan' rock in Yosemite National Park. This climbing also became an oscar wining documentary last year. I remembered it because of your post and went to check his chart. Since EA is about observation an correlation is interesting to  see this soul has Saturn in Scorpio conjunct natal south node, squaring mars, mercury and the sun in leo. Neptune, ruler of the 10th is in Capricorn.
In this interview i post the link bellow, he touches all Rad mentioned before about the natural determination and resilience of capricorn.
He explains and teaches how he does it, from personal experience and from his own natural authority. Really amazing...
The chart itself has planets in opposition squaring the nodal axis and skipped steps on each side, almost all in aspect to Saturn.
On a side note, this soul also has vesta conjunct pluto, the asteroid relating to personal commitment, dedication and focus.

Look at this quote explaining the friction capricorn... Cancer:

The chart remembers me partially another chart. I don't know why YouTube is suggesting me this weeks videos of Jordan Peterson, I'm not fan of him, not at all, too much patriarchal,  but I start watching some of his videos because despite that he has some interesting points in relation to the shadow. Watching his videos I start thinking:  "no matter how hard you try you will never find a guy more capricornian than him" even his face is like a goat! everything he says is pure capricorn, it's like saturn speaking directly from his mouth, even the hidden side of capricorn... the dark eros... He has a huge work on the shadow.  I thought: this soul has been working with capricorn many many live times, totally fusionated with it, so much that cancer is being repressed and that's why he finds so liberating to bring light to his shadow. Hearing the screaming of cancer to heal it. The water filtered through the dam.
Then I go to his chart... And.. Bingo!!! south node conjunct saturn in the 10th squaring Mars and neptune.

Just YouTube "Jordan Peterson" and you will see. No matter which video all of them talk about capricorn. And YouTube "Jordan Peterson shadow" to see how his north node in the 4th+ppp in the 11th conj jupiter is trying to balance it.

It's so funny you bring this example, because for me even not knowing much about Peterson, i have always had instinctual aversion to his image and presence and did some practical investigation before to know why  maybe i'm bias...
I agree with what you say, in this example it's the shadow of capricorn. For me he hides behind an elaborated scheme of ideas and concepts that are nothing but a sophisticated presentation of the patriarchal values for larger audiences, in other words, for me he is simply a intelectual fraude with immense power of attraction because the people he attracts value the deluded beliefs he seems to be an authority at. There is an author i read before called Alexander Douglas, describing him in ways that i agree are quite accurate if we see his chart, specially uranus in leo balsamic to pluto/saturn in aquarius 10th square neptune in scorpio 6th, and projection of beliefs/judgments. Also sun, ruler of the nn square jupiter in pisces. This author says about Peterson that "his audience consists largely of white men, whose pride has been hurt by the growing recognition that their positions are the product of privilege and not only of achievement - or "˜competence' to use one of Peterson's favourite words."
So i think is really really interesting from an ea perspective that we've come synchronistically at this two examples so sharp in nature relative to Capricorn as natural and distorted expressions, or shadow as you mention. And look at both charts having venus in cancer... Wow, that i think also a symbol for personal determination and responsibility leading to natural development of inner security or emotional blockage on the other hand.

OMG!

This is so weird! I didn't realize it, I know we should keep private things out of the forum, but just because we are talking in part about sincoronicity... This needs to be mentioned, see how crazy this thing of capricorn is working now... Without going to much into details... the chart of Alex honnold you post it is almost the same chart of my last ex-couple...I never ever met a person that push me more and so hard into develop the capricorn arquetipe than her.  Both natural and distorted.

I wonder if this is a kind of uranus joke.

Life is funny, i had some good laughs with your post, yeah uranus joke indeed  
One thing i noticed after posting Honnold's chart that is another great moment of cosmic humor is well, here it is the chart of someone with NN in the 11th in taurus, who's work is doing Free Solo... and then this nn is ruled by venus in cancer in the 1st house and he is number 1 doing very scary work involving no external security equipment at all... Astrology is just this beautiful way to help us make sense of life but in the end it's all about real life actions and choices, whether we know astrology or not ;-)

The beauty and wonderful insight that comes from this kinds of sincoronicities is the breaking of the boundaries between the self and the other. It confirms that others hearts and minds are your own heart and mind... And your own heart and mind is others heart and mind. There is no such a thing of an independent self.  In the same way that there is not such a thing of independent finger from the hand, independent hand from the arm and so on...  All that you can see, hear, touch is part of you and you are part of it, that's why every time we are trying to separate from the universe, God, whatever word... We suffer... Because in fact what we are doing is separating from ourselves. If I try to separate myself from my leg and I cut it.... Obviously is going to hurt!!!

So is so beautiful when this connections, sincoronicities show directly that we being part of this big heart mind its not just a nice theory, but a clear fact in front of our nose.

Oh yes, if we pay attention it's All around us...
For truth of sakes i wouldn't necessarily correlate independence with separation from Source though. Sometimes the best way we can stay connected and grounded in the Divine within us and with others is to honour the relationship with ourselves and our own independence to be who we really are, how else could we then be a healthy finger capable of doing the work is intended to? That's how i see it at least, one the most important things we learn in EA is everyone is on its own path, we're all unique in the original design and that makes the Whole shine and naturally interconnect :-)

Yes... Living in both dimensions, ultimate dimension all the universe is breathing through us manifested in this concrete heart-mind and body, manifested in you are you me is me. Living in the paradox.

As I understand in EA language the journey from a separate ego identified with individual to an identification with God.

Being the wave but standing in the whole ocean...
