Hi Rad and all,

There are such profound EA teachings throughout her story and in particular her Soul's intentions and inner relationships to herself, the why to her choices. Thank you Rad for all that you have offered here.

The timing of things never ceases to amaze me.

Transiting Mars, the planet of desire and the lead point in our evolution, is currently RX in Scorpio.
Mars was also RX in Scorpio when Amelia's plane took off for her FINAL around the world flight. Mars was at 23 degrees, which is where Mars will be when it stations direct the end of this month. We are nearly there now with Mars RX at 24 degrees.

The link to Scorpio for Amelia connects to fated events, and ultimately her death, Scorpio, being a means to empower others.

When Amelia started her initial flight around the world in Hawaii March 17, 1937, Mars was at 1 degree of Sagittarius....she lost control at take-off and had to send the plane back for repairs. She then went to Miami to begin her flight around the world when Mars was retrograde in Scorpio at 23 degrees. No one knows why, but she left behind important communication and navigation instruments. Perhaps it was to make room for additional fuel for the long flight.

She went missing when Mars was direct in Scorpio conjunct Saturn inconjunct Venus, the ruler of her chart and her South Node of Mars in Libra. Neptune in Gemini, Neptune in Virgo was square the Nodes, the tr SN was conjunct her Venus, ruler of her SN Mars.

March 17, 1937 - Tr Mars was at 1 Sagittarius - Amelia took off from Oakland on her all around the world attempt. After resting and refueling in Honolulu, the trio prepared to resume the flight. However, while taking off for Howland Island, Earhart ground-looped the plane on the runway, perhaps because of a blown tire, and the Lockheed was seriously damaged. The flight was called off, and the aircraft was shipped back to California for repairs.

Transiting Mars stations RX at 5 degrees of Sagittarius April 14 -  the plane is being repaired.
Mars back into Scorpio May 15

June 1,1937 - She and Noonan, her navigator she make a new around-the-world attempt, this time from west to east.  Mars was RX in SCORPIO at 23 degrees (the same degree it will be when it stations RX on June 29,2016 ~ 79 years later)

July 2, 1937 - Amelia's plane goes missing - Mars is DIRECT in Scorpio at 19 degrees.

See chart attached.

Peace,
Kristin

Hi Kristin,

Thanks for contributing that remarkable information.

Thanks to all for this remarkable opportunity.

I would like to attempt an interpretation of Amelia Earharts' 7th house, ruled by Scorpio, with Uranus conjunct Saturn retrograde and Chiron all in the 7th house.

With Pluto conjunct her moon in Gemini, also Venus and Neptune, in the 2nd house, it has already been suggested that she was gaining new self-knowledge and assurance, this lifetime, to propel her souls' journey into the depths of the unknown (8th house Pluto polarity point in Sagittarius) by way of expanding her intuitive abilities. Her curiosity toward her own sexual desires would also serve to expand her consciousness, as she explores, wonders and questions the status quo (Uranus and Saturn retrograde in Scorpio in the 7th). She is questioning and staring into all of the taboos of the early 20th century!

She would necessarily attract to herself other individuals who are, perhaps, more erudite and better-schooled in physics and aerodynamics than herself, or more "˜intellectually' aware than herself. These people, in contrast, could have had the effect of penetrating to the weak link in her existing intellectual structure, so that very structure collapses, and induces the Sagittarian evolutionary intention. Of course, she would have had to compensate for her socially rebellious nature by pretending to fit in with polite society, to the extent that she could. Her cosmology would not have been welcomed during her time tho, particularlly given her gender.

Charles "Lindy" Lindbergh had flown his "Spirit of St. Louis" flight across the Atlantic Ocean in 1926, and had been heralded a super-hero of near mythological proportions. With her Uranus conjunct Saturn, both retrograde, in Scorpio, 7th house, I believe she was willing to overturn this Patriarchal mythology and replace it with sexual, powerful, brilliant and rebellious female politics. That's Scorpio in the 7th - completely turning the power of sexual politics on its' pre-conditioned head!

With her "˜Pluto moon', it seems to me that she is desperately seeking meaning and understanding beyond the constraints of linear teaching and thinking. Her Pluto polarity point in the 8th house, also, suggests a shaman's journey back to the indigenous roots of our current-day "˜civilization' (conjunct the South Node of Uranus), to retrieve inspiration and elucidation for today's world (moon in Gemini conjunct North Node of Uranus).

Also, given Taurus on her 2nd house cusp, she would greatly value all manner of aerodynamic teaching that would help her take flight, and suspend that flight (Venus conjunct Neptune) in an attempt to release herself from the confines (and attitudes) of earthly gravity. The planetary ruler of her 2nd house cusp (Venus) seems to be seeking dialogue of a higher nature or spiritual communion with Creator by physically climbing to the higher altitudes. She must have been at peace up there.

Uranus conjunct Saturn, retrograde, in Scorpio in the 7th house would suggest past-life memory of physical and psychological trauma. These memories would color her entire perspective of life, and would become basis for her reality structure. She could have been plagued by self-doubt, depression, superstition or re-occurring dreams (Uranus/Saturn inconjunct her moon/Pluto stellium) that she desperately wanted to rid from her psyche.

It would seem that she was struggling to liberate herself from other peoples' forms of power and control, and to not be dependent on others peoples' fear-mongering psychology or tied by any sexual binds. She was learning to allow herself the freedom to follow her own personal desirous nature, her sexual instincts, and not what had been dictated to her via fear and manipulation in the past. Her love of self becomes her freedom.

She's learning not to look for an authority figure in a partner, nor a source of higher inspiration. She can find that for herself in her relationship to Creator (Pisces rules her sense of ultimate meaning on the 12th house cusp.)

With Chiron on the descendent, she must no longer succumb to societal pressure to be contained in a sexual relationship.  She would be seeking self-love, confidence and sustainment this lifetime in order to heal the sexual wounds of her past. And she would be seeking a self-assured, freedom-loving partner with an attitude of open relationship that would allow both the freedom necessary to explore their independent souls' desires (or not).

Her Chiron seems to be a karmic wound, and she was willing to risk her very life, over the ocean, exploring the unknown to liberate herself from anyone else's' criticism, judgment or persuasion. Surely the 1st house, Taurus polarity of Uranus and Saturn would speak to this need for liberation of her deepest psyche to help resolve past life trauma. Historians may suggest that she was out to trump a world's record for the recognition that it would bring, but my "˜read' on it is that this was a personal journey that she knew, before-hand, might not be the best of odds.

The expressions of androgyny can be seen repeatedly between her Pluto stellium in the 2nd house, her Mercury conjunct South Node and sun in Leo, and, of course, her Venus South Node on her Mars/Jupiter conjunction in Virgo, in the 5th house of self-actualization, self-realization and exhibition. It seems to me that she desired (Mars) on a soul level to, not only, support a woman's' right to support her dreams, but, also to speak her truth in a woman's body (Mars conjunct Jupiter in Virgo in the 5th), outside of liturgical restraint (Virgo). She is certainly re-programming old "˜tapes' of shame, guilt and denial in order to reclaim and regain her right to live, and to live fully, without apology (5th house).

Her early biological environment may not have supported her right to speak her mind as a strong and passionate female. With the moon conjunct Pluto in the 2nd house in Gemini, and planetary ruler, Mercury conjunct South Node, this life's sun (and Lucifer) in Leo, it appears that she was summoning the strength within herself to reclaim her personal, autonomous authority (North Node in Aquarius 10th house), and quite effectively, re-birth herself.

These expressions may well have been part of her personae (moon), having stemmed from a South Node perspective seeking to evolve into a more whole, complete, self-realized and actualized (Leo), and balanced (Uranus in 7th house inconjunct her moon) individual. Uranus retrograde would have an oblique effect on her moon and bring up trauma from speaking her mind, in culturally-unaccepted gender terms in prior lifetimes. This could have fed into self-doubt and low self-esteem.

My past teacher, Robert Ghost Wolf, said that we would see more androgynous and cross-gender people with the advent of the new millennium. He said that each individual is unique, and is trying to express an unresolved part of themselves. In time, he said, gender identification would not be an issue, as more people realize that they contain both male and female within themselves. Ms. Earhart was a forerunner for those wanting to heal gender issues on a soul level, and wanting to rid themselves of the fear to do so.

Her North Node of Venus in Cancer in the 3rd house is conjunct her North Node of Mercury and Vesta, and the North Node of Pluto and Saturn. She is a brave example of a woman attempting to harmonize the distortion perpetuated by Patriarchal belief systems, during the early 20th century, toward a more peaceful, enlightened, and egalitarian society. The South Node of Pluto is one degree away from her M.C., and the North Node of Pluto is one degree away from her I.C.

Given that Ms. Earhart was 3rd Stage Individuated, I have to wonder if her Pluto Polarity Point in Sagittarius, in the 8th house, and her North node in Aquarius, in the 10th (with planetary ruler, Uranus, retrograde in Scorpio in the 7th), were an agreement between herself and Creator to quicken the evolution of all those who regarded her. If so, her journey across the curvature of the earth will continue through our memories, and through time, as a perennial reminder of the opportunity that we have as souls, to wake up in a body on this green earth.

Hi Marty,

Good for you that you have made an effort to contribute to this thread. Your analysis is very good. The only exception I would have is over stating her own sense of self doubt, and depression. Of course she had these dynamics yet there were being constantly interfaces with her desire to get on with things, to keep moving, keep adventuring, keep discovering, and so on. Thus, much more inherently optimistic and positive that the undermining of excessive self doubt/ depression. This is one of the meanings of her S.Node of Venus being conjunct Jupiter and Mars, her natal Amazon in Sagittarius reflecting the polarity point of her Pluto.

What is quite stunning is this fact as well: her natal LILITH is exactly conjunct, through geodetics, Howland Island !

All,

I am wondering how many would now like to go through a step by step process to more fully understand how to integrate to EA usage of the North/South Nodes of a natal planet in your own chart and life ? We would do this in a very simple way, i.e. exampling a South Node of Venus in Aries or the first house. And then begin to add onto that as in exampling the planetary ruler of that by it's own house, sign. And then adding to that by way of aspects that that planetary ruler is making to other planets. And so on. One step at a time.

From there integrating that into the current house and sign of the natal Venus. And from there adding the N.Node of Venus utilizing the same one step at a time, adding onto, as we would have learned by starting with the S.Node of Venus.

For those interested please let me know.

God Bless, Rad
