Hi Rad or Deva, and members

Pluto in an intercepted sign

How does one interpret Pluto in an intercepted sign, for example, if Pluto were in the intercepted sign of Libra in the 7th house?  The quote below from Deva applies to an intercepted sign, but how does one treat any planet(s) within an intercepted sign, and specifically Pluto?

Intercepted Signs

Generally speaking, when you find intercepted signs there are two reasons for it from an evolutionary point of view. The first is that these specific archetypes that are intercepted have been so thoroughly developed prior to the current life that the Soul does not need to develop those areas any further. If Aquarius is intercepted, yet the planetary ruler, Uranus is heavily aspected, or the Soul has a stacked 11th house, etc., then you can deduce that this case applies to that Soul. The second reason is that these archetypes have not been fully developed prior to the current life, again necessarily so, and that in this life the Soul is intended to develop those areas within consciousness. If there are no aspects to Uranus, or planets in the 11th house or Aquarius, then you could most likely determine this is the case for the Soul. These archetypes will become active through transit and progression of the natal chart for example. (Deva)

Thank you, Rad.

Hi Linda,

When dealing with intercepted planets in houses what Deva said is the way to understand/ interpret these dynamics.

When Pluto is intercepted, in whatever house, the Soul's bottom line orientation to it's reality that correlates to it's ongoing evolution is in place. The interception of Pluto generally will mean that there are underlying issues/ dynamics that have been repressed or buried that need to realized by the Soul before a full actualization of it's polarity point can be actualized. The dynamics that have been buried or repressed, or not fully embraced, can be determined by a careful examination of all the aspects to Pluto itself, where  the sign Scorpio is located, any planets in Scorpio with aspects to them, the planetary ruler of the sign that Pluto is in by way of the aspects to it, and the location by house/ sign of that planetary ruler.

Hi Rad,

You may have missed Dav's questions above.

May I also add what about Chiron in an intercepted house?

It would be good to get as much information as possible for the EA Glossary 2016.

Thanks so much,

Linda

Hi Linda,

All depends on the entire context of the birth chart including the EA paradigm itself. The basic archetypes of interceptions apply as has been discussed. How those archetypes manifest is dependent on the Soul's individual context. If you wish we could try to example this by utilizing the birth chart of well know people so that the correlations would make sense.

Hi Rad,

I will try to find some charts of well-known people.

Hi Rad and Dav,

Here's another chart we could study.  Albert Einstein has Chiron, Neptune, Ceres and Pluto in intercepted sign Taurus in the 11th house.  The opposite 5th house is void.  He also has duplicated Aquarius on the 8th and 9th houses as well as duplicated Leo in the 2nd and 3rd houses.

Albert Einstein

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Einstein (Wikipedia)

http://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Einstein,_Albert (Astro-Databank)

German-Swiss-American scientist, a physicist who developed the theory of relativity in 1905, and the general theory in 1916, laying the groundwork for 20th century physics and providing the essential structure of the cosmos. He was awarded the 1922 Nobel Prize for his contributions to theoretical physics, especially for his discovery of the photo-electric effect law. His name has been synonymous with genius, and the scientific definitions of the modern age - ranging from the Bomb to space travel, electronics and quantum physics - all bear the stamp of his conceptualizations.

He learned to talk so late that his parents feared that he was mentally retarded, not until he was three, and was not fluent until he was nine. For awhile, he was considered subnormal because of his slow development, and his teachers were continually saying that he would never amount to anything. He had begun his education in 1884 at a Catholic school near his home, but in 1889 was transferred from the school to the rigid discipline at Lluitpold Gymnasium. He was kicked out of that school for disrupting class but by the time he was 13 he had read Euclid's geometry and Kant's Critique of Pure Reason, two major influences on him. His youth seemed to be one of deliberate rebellion against the establishment of his times.

Pluto in an intercepted sign

When Pluto is intercepted, in whatever house, the Soul's bottom line orientation to its reality that correlates to its ongoing evolution is in place. The interception of Pluto generally will mean that there are underlying issues/dynamics that have been repressed or buried that need to be realized by the Soul before a full actualization of its polarity point can be actualized. The dynamics that have been buried or repressed, or not fully embraced, can be determined by a careful examination of all the aspects to Pluto itself, where the sign Scorpio is located, any planets in Scorpio with aspects to them, the planetary ruler of the sign that Pluto is in by way of the aspects to it, and the location by house/sign of that planetary ruler. (Rad)

Underlying issues/dynamics that have been buried or repressed, or not fully embraced, that need to be realized by the Soul before a full actualization of its polarity point can be actualized:

Aspects to Pluto Taurus 11th:

-  Mars trine Pluto (disseminating):  Einstein was not perceived as a threat to the consensus.  He had already learned how to make it work to his advantage.  He had been able to integrate, establish, actualize, and disseminate the original intention (Pluto Taurus 11th).

-  Pluto t-square Jupiter and Uranus:  The t-square compelled Einstein to use the high degree of energies available from Jupiter (philosophy, truth, expansion, Universal Laws) and Uranus (liberation from conditioning patterns, accelerated evolution, repeating messages) however the t-square was unbalanced.

The focal planet - Pluto - encompassed a very dynamic principle that Einstein normally had trouble integrating into his awareness.  It provoked inner tension or developmental stress which eventually would be expressed through relationships - the process of an opposition - through the Venus/balancing function.

The Soul continually pushed the opposing planets Jupiter and Uranus that expressed in a conflicting manner towards balance and harmony (a Venus function).  This was most acutely felt by Einstein in the 11th house of groups, like-minded friends, secret societies, and scientific communities.

Scorpio, intercepted sign in the 5th house:  This area offered insight into transmuting the t-square pattern through facing up to his limitations and powerlessness, and delving into the psychology of his motivations.

Planets in Scorpio:  Pluto polarity point

Planetary ruler of Pluto's sign, Venus Aries 10th, and aspects:

-  Venus Aries 10th trine Moon Sagittarius 6th (disseminating):  It is possible that Einstein followed the path of least resistance in order to preserve the status quo when attracting criticism from others.  The ruler of Venus was Mars Capricorn 7th which squared Venus.  The ruler of the Moon was Jupiter in tense t-square to Pluto and Uranus.  The trine was a moment to moment aspect of relaxation and peace, and eventually resulted in fruition, talent, creativity, and expansion of Einstein's horizons and consciousness in the 10th/6th areas of his life's work.

-  Venus sesquiquadrate Uranus Virgo 3rd:  Classifying, categorizing and communicating his findings for a societal purpose.

Conclusion:   Einstein had trouble integrating intercepted sign, Taurus - Earth, grounding, centering, stability and survival - into his awareness due to past life traumatic memories.  Becoming too isolated from his community, the Soul pushed to be in healthy relationship to self and others.  Pluto Taurus 11th eventually became the key to his talent, drive, creativity and success through the Pluto polarity point Scorpio 5th.

Linda

When I am feeling better, I will send you my thoughts on how we can proceed.

Perhaps Dav can go ahead with this now?

Hi Linda,

Let's embrace the totality of what interceptions can be which are (1) the intercepted sign has been in a state or repression/ denial, or (2) it can correlate to latent capacities or abilities that can manifest at key times in the Soul's life that are triggered by transits through the intercepted sign or the planetary ruler of the intercepted sign, or (3) if the archetypes have been so thoroughly developed prior to the current life that they need no longer any development in the context of the current evolutionary path of the Soul.

My understanding of his life would not necessarily support what you have written. For example, in the area of intimate relationships, given Venus is the ruler of all that intercepted Taurus, and is in the 10th House in Aries which is just beginning to form a Crescent Phase square which then leads, evolutionarily, to a First Quarter Square, to his Mars in Capricorn in his 7th he had an underlying attitude towards women of being superior to them, that the must meet HIS NEEDS, this then reflecting a deep inner repression within his Soul of such an attitude/ orientation that it caused him to create severe trauma upon his marriage mate. It is my understanding that he forced her to live in a backroom of the house while he carried on with another women that he was having an affair with.

He thought of himself as superior to others in general as well. His early life orientation to his education that you cited reflects this as that repressed sense of superiority manifested as keeping himself detached from the immediate group before him that lead to the judgements by the adult superiors around him: the 11th House Taurus interception coming through that Venus in Aries in the 10th. By inwardly isolating himself, detaching, he expressed his sense of power, the Scorpio interception within the 5th.

With Libra on that 5th House cusp relative to Aries on the 11th we can then see that one of the core archetypes/ dynamics that his Soul intended to learn through that signature was one of being an equal among others versus a superior in general, and of course in his intimate relationships. The planetary rulers of Aries and Libra are, again, in the Crescent Phase leading to a First Quarter square which symbolizes this increasing evolutionary need which in reinforced by the fact that Mars is in the natural Libra house, and Venus in Aries in the natural 10th House.

Relativity, as an archetype, correlates with the archetype of Venus. Relative to his Soul's ongoing evolutionary intentions, to evolve, it is then quite interesting that his innate genius manifested as the General Theory of Relativity upon which he not only became famous, but revolutionized physics as a whole. Relativity, in essence, correlates with equality. All things being equal .............

It is so important to have a full understanding of any given Soul in order to know and understand the totality of it's context so that the various astrological symbols that we are trying to understand can be understood correctly. For example, what prior lives could Einstein have lead that would have contributed to to this inner sense of superiority and self importance in general, and specifically towards women ?

Just to give you a glimpse of what I am trying to share his Soul had already, long prior to the life of being Einstein, evolved into the capacity of understanding the root of many of the Natural Laws that are the basis of the manifest Creation. This can be seen in many ways in his birth chart including his Jupiter being in Aquarius in the 9th squaring his 11th House intercepted Pluto in Taurus, and that Jupiter of course being the natural ruler of his Moon in Sagittarius in the 6th which is conjunct his S.Node of Uranus. That S.Node of Uranus is then ruled by his natal Uranus in Virgo in the 3rd which itself is ruled by his Mercury in Aries in the 10th which is then conjunct his Saturn, the natural ruler of his Mars in the 7th.

This is an example of natural capacities that do not need fuller development that manifest as being able to revolutionize, change, or transform that which the Soul focuses upon. So for the Soul of Einstein this meant his innate understanding of those Natural Laws of the Manifest Creation. So, for example, in a previous life he was the main Indian astronomer and mathematician in India who conceived of the number Zero that is to root of all advanced mathematics: Brahmagupta. It is because of his evolutionary capacity that he was then, and is, considered to be a 'genius': the 11th House, Aquarius, and Uranus. We can see this life even through geodetics: the whole geodetic axis for India is Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces. The revolution of the number Zero in mathematics, which is linear logic, is then seen through is Uranus in Virgo in the 3d House which is the natural ruler of his S.Node of Uranus being in Sagittarius conjunct his Moon in the natural Virgo house, which themselves are then ruled by his Jupiter in Aquarius in the 9th House.

In that life he was extremely critical of many of his colleagues and peers who he inwardly considered, basically, as stupid. Even in the life as Einstein his Soul said this: "When genius interfaces with mediocre minds ( meaning the existing consensus ) expect violent opposition".

In that life, given he was in India, men consider themselves as superior to women where women are just expected to tend to the needs of the man. With the all that Taurus intercepted relative to Venus being in Aries in the 10th, and his S.Node also being in the 2nd House, women we considered by his Soul as 'property to be owned'. Of course, in general, in patriarchal realities all  over our planet this is generally true as well. Thus, in him, this was an inner orientation/ attitude that was so taken for granted that is was simply buried within the totality of his Soul structure: a function of the interception.

So I am sharing this so we can see how various prior life dynamics/ archetypes interact so as to understand how and why they manifest in the ways that they do.

So let's continue on with this if you so wish.

God Bless, Rad

Hi Rad,

Thanks so much for the gift of your astrological analysis of Einstein's chart, and specifically the focus on Pluto in the intercepted sign.

After reading your analysis, I realize that the key to understanding the repressed Venus issue correlates to Venus Aries 10th (being the ruler of Taurus the intercepted sign) just beginning to form a Crescent Phase Square which then leads, evolutionarily, to a First Quarter Square of Mars Capricorn 7th.

Einstein's South Node of Venus was 14 Aquarius 42, and North Node of Venus 26 Aries 36.

Venus conjunct Waldemath Dark Moon Lilith could account for past life scenarios of distorted rage, fear, etc.

Dark Moon Lilith

Dark Moon Lilith (119-177 day cycle) signifies how and where we experience the distorted aspects of Lilith in our lives - her anguish, bitterness, betrayal, alienation, fear and hatred of sexuality, and revenge. For centuries men and women have been conditioned by our patriarchal culture to suppress this feminine strength which has resulted in bitterness and resentment, inevitably leading to distortion and rage. How this distortion is played out is indicated by the natal placement of the Dark Moon Lilith. Dark Moon Lilith is the distorted Lilith representing Lilith's flee into a fiery rage of exile where she plots and executes her revenge. Find your Dark Moon Lilith placement and know that this area ***also creates a channel by which we can release the rage.*** (Kristin)
