Planetary Nodes of Venus: Nature of Inter-Relationship of Venus' North and South Nodes in Time
When one begins to look at the nodes of venus, we initially observe how quickly that they move through the zodiac. They transit all the signs in a years time.
They actually move ever so slightly quicker than 360 degrees of forward motion in a years time.
For example, using the Aries point as a start, we see in 1900 on March 20th the North Node of Venus was at 0 degrees Taurus 6 minutes. In the year 2000, on March 20th the North Node of Venus was at 0 Taurus 54 minutes. In the year 2100, the North Node of Venus will be at 1 Taurus and 6 minutes. So, we see that there is a gradual moving ahead of when the nodes of Venus.
The other unique thing about the nodes of Venus is that they conjunct two times each year. For hundreds of years now, in the spring(northern hemisphere) the south node of Venus conjuncts the north node of Venus as it passes(moves ahead of) it. And, in the fall, the north node of Venus will be moving quicker and the 2 nodes conjoin as the north node pulls ahead.
What is distinct about this pattern of the nodes of Venus conjuncting is that they, each year, conjunct around the same time and in the same signs. For example, this pattern has been seeing the spring(from northern hemishere) nodal conjunction in gemini and the fall nodal conjunction(from northern hemisphere) in Sagittarius.
Because the degrees of each of these conjunctions also progressively moves forward in the zodiac, we see the nature of a larger time cycle within the nodes Venus movement.

The above covers 2,800 years of movement of Venus's nodal conjunctions
The first line is conjunctions at 24 Taurus and 24 Scorpio in 500 BC
The last line is conjunctions at 19 Gemini and 19 Sag in 2300 AD
Notice also, these nodal conjunctions occur at the time the Sun is conjunct the same point.
If we average the movement of the nodal conjunctions of Venus in this time period, we have an average of 112 years per degree of forward movement.
If we go back to 1500 BC, the conjunctions were at 15 Taurus and Scorpio. From 1500 BC to 1900 AD when conjunctions of the nodes of Venus were at 15 Gemini and Sag is 3,400 years. Using this period of 30 degrees of movement, we see an average of 113.33 years for 1 degree of forward motion of the nodes of Venus conjoining.
So, we do not have enough information to determine how constant this rate of movement is.(at least not from the true-node site) If the period is about 3,400 years, which it does appear to be about this:
Here is approximate eras of Venus's Nodal Conjunctions occuring in Sign Polarities
200 AD to 3600 AD - approximate era of Venus Nodal Conjunctions in Gemini/Sag
3200 BC to 200 AD - approximate era of Venus Nodal Conjunctions in Taurus/Scorpio
6,600 BC to 3,200 BC - guesstamation of Venus Nodal Conjunctions in Aries/Libra
Incorporating this with the Mars nodal cycles, which never conjunct each other and move much slower(progressively), we see that the active sign polarities have matched up for as long as recorded past reveals.
For example, for the entire period of Venus Nodal Conjunctions in Aries/Libra, the same axis would have been active and in its first and middle period for Mar's Nodal Cycle.
To repeat:
8000 BC to 4500 BC - Mars Nodes in Aries/Libra for first approx. 4000 year period.
During this era, the nodal conjunctions of Venus shifted from Pisces/Virgo and began in Aries/Libra. What this tells us is the years between approx. 6,600 BC to 3,200 BC the degrees where Venus's Nodes conjuncted aligned with the position of the nodes of Mars .
This phenomena continues to occur. Do to the nature of Mar's nodes dancing between a 3 sign area, each year there are days when one of the nodes of Mars aligns with the current position of the Venus Nodal Conjunctions.
In a bigger picture, this is relevant to our study of the planetary nodes and ages relative to the transition from "˜matriachy' to "˜patriarchy'. Because, in the same period where the nodes of Mars were squaring off the nodes of Pluto, Saturn, and Jupiter - the cardinal cross, AT THIS SAME TIME the position of the nodal conjunctions of Venus was also in Aries/Libra and squaring the Cancer/Cap axis while periodically being conjucted by the transiting nodes of Mars each year.
At least, this is what it appears to be from my research.

Planetary Nodes of Venus: Observations and Analysis of Ingresses - You Node What I Mean
When I first started to learn of the planetary nodes, it was through this message board and referring back to JWG text.(surprise) The one principle which has and does always stick in my head is the trinity of south node, current placement, and north node. This has been the simplest and best starting point when explaining the use of planetary nodes to others for me - past, present, and future.
Thanks to Rad and the message board, I have been inspired to explore the nodes more and more. It has been one of those things that went from "Gee, I can not remember what my so and so node is" to a matter of stopping myself and thinking, "Well, remember, the nodes of mars are only going to be in three sign possibilities" etc.
Well, recently, I had an "ah ha" moment when I was reflecting on how many times fellow Aquarians also had the south node of Venus in Capricorn. After further research, I had the moment when I realized that just about every single Aquarius Sun sign alive on the planet has the south node of Venus in Capricorn. Wooo! A shocking realization as my mind instantly went reeling back to the concept of the dual rulership of Saturn and Uranus for Aquarius. Reflecting on JWG's Pluto 1's descriptions of consensus stage Pluto 11th house, we see this concept of the thinking ideas outside the box, especially in consensus, is often a throw back to the past - the example was Ronald Reagan - who is an Aquarius Sun; so, also the south node of Venus Capricorn.
My mind continued to reel, back to Robert Hand's certain writing for co-rulership in "˜Horoscope Symbols'. Of course, not an evolutionary astrologer, but in a flash I could see something besides the fixed nature of Aquarius which supports/re-inforces this connection. In our current era, all Aquarians do have the south node of Venus in Cap! Well, after realizing this, I simply had to know more about the patterning of the nodes of Venus.
In the previous posts, I had shared the connection of the two times a year the nodes of Venus conjunct...and how these conjunction points are actually gradually moving which creates larger node/sign eras relative to the nodes of Venus - the evolving ways of relating collectively.
Here, I wanted to share what I have since then learned. Some of this might be old hat and discussed elsewhere for those of you who have been working with the nodes more, but, nonetheless, it seems like a good resource to post.
First, I wanted to make note of the distance of the nodes in relationship to the sun's position. For, just as Venus is never more than 46 degrees out of range from the location of the Sun(due to the visual effects of looking in at a planet closer to the sun) so too the nodes of Venus remain within 46 degrees of the Sun's location. For example, when you look below at the ingress table, you see that when the south node of Venus enters Capricorn, the sn Venus is 10 degrees of separation from the Sun. Next, the Aquarius ingress of the south node, the sn Venus is now approx. 30 degrees of separation from the Sun. The ingress of sn of Venus into Pisces shows about 44 degrees of separation from the Sun. The ingress of sn Venus into Aries is at about 45 degrees of separtion. Then, as the rate of motion of the south node of Venus quickens significantly as it travels almost 5 signs in 2 months, the south node of Venus and the Sun, as well as north node of Venus, conjunct in Gemini each year, then to separate once again. The other conjunction of both nodes and the sun is in Sagittarius.
So, to sum it up the first point, just like you know that Venus is never more than 46 degrees from one's birth sun, same for the nodes of Venus.
The second point is that it is possible to memorize the basic yearly pattern of movement of the North and South Node of Venus. It is my hope that by displaying the movement in this fashion, it will be a tool to remember this knowledge and possibly increase the intuitive capacity one can immediately deduce from a chart or even just hearing one's birthday. The hope is we can learn and memorize this pattern seeing it as such.
So, for example, I will never forget that all Aquarians(possible exception for Feb 19th) have south node of Venus in Capricorn and the north node of Venus in either Pisces or Aries. Note the north node(of Venus) enters Aries on Feb. 3rd each year, so, if we add that fact to the ol' tool box, you can meet any "Aquarius" and know the nodes of Venus by sign. Combine this with the current natal Venus and evolutionary stage, and we can get a lot of information before we even see the whole chart. I am in no way advocating not having charts and starting with the Pluto paradigm. Rather, illustrating how it is possibly to intuit more knowing this pattern. As for, lets say Gemini Sun signs, it is possible that the south node of Venus could be in Aries, Taurus, Gemini, or Cancer. But, on the other hand, all Gemini Sun's have a north node of Venus in Gemini! My point is that this awareness can give us a whole new perspective on why someone is born on the day in which they were. This connection fills in more of the why and how one's purpose and destiny(sun) are tied to past and future ways of relating and one's core values(venus).
One final thought, as the node pattern relates to the Sun's sign position, this creates a direct link to sun sign and the nodes of Venus. So, when we ask WHY does this person have a sun in this sign within this house, the sign - or more specifically - the exact sun position by zodiac degree - is tied to past developed and future evolving ways of relating. In part, the sun sign as the symbol of how we integrate and creatively actualize our life purpose has a patterning with past and future ways in which we listen to and relate to ourselves and others - there is a general correlation of life purpose and core values that link to each birthday.
Like I said earlier, many of you may have already learned this. For those who do and who do not, I pray seeing the below timeline of the year with the node of Venus ingresses is a helpful tool. Also, the ingress dates are very close, but not always exact, keeping in mind leap year and the nature of time. I've reviewed it and appears quite accurate. If notice anything and let me know, I'll go back in and adjust this. I have tried to write in an understandable way, however my apologies if this is not clear.

So, when we ask WHY does this person have a sun in this sign within this house, the sign - or more specifically - the exact sun position by zodiac degree - is tied to past developed and future evolving ways of relating. In part, the sun sign as the symbol of how we integrate and creatively actualize our life purpose has a patterning with past and future ways in which we listen to and relate to ourselves and others - there is a general correlation of life purpose and core values that link to each birthday.

I have a question about the direct linkage between the Sun sign, by zodiac degree and the sn and nn of Venus:
1. Would the very same principals apply for Mercury as well, given the closer orbit of Mercury to the Sun than the Earth?
2. In the same way, I understand this would not apply to any planet whose orbit is outside of that of the Earth's?

Well, regarding your first question.... good question - I do not know the answer right now b/c I have yet to study it. However, I believe it would be true that, as Mercury at most is 28 degrees of separation, the same would be true for it's nodes. The pattering I have yet to analyze. Now that I completed that phase of understanding the nodes of Venus, that is where I was going next. So, unless someone does it before I get to it, I will get back to you on that one.
Regarding question 2, you are totally right. That is exactly the phenomena of a planet orbiting closer to a star relative from the perspective of a planet farther from the same star. In our case, of course, mercury and venus from the perspective of earth.
One of the next steps I am working on with the nodes of Venus is plotting them on a solar system model to see their location within the orbit. It is obvious you can see that it is impossible for the nodes of a planet to 'appear' opposite if the planet is closer to the star/sun. Does that mean that Venus's nodes are not actually opposite? No. I'm not sure if this will actually reveal useful information helpful to evolutionary astrologers. If it seems like it may, I'll be sure to share it.
