I've been reflecting on aspects on the cusp of phases and the right way to understand orb in that context. For example, a balsamic conjunction between a planet and Pluto with a 10 degree orb vs a 1 degree orb.
The 10 degree orb means this is just beginning to culminate. The 1 degree orb means it's pretty much a total culmination. In terms of the practical difference I want to check if I understand this correctly:
The 10 degree orb implies the soul is just now entering this final stage of an entire evolutionary cycle and is meant to complete the cycle. However, it's likely that this is the first life in the balsamic conjunction archetype, meaning it's the first life in which these dynamics are coming to an entire close, and so the soul is just now beginning to reflect upon the ultimate meaning of the cycle and what is necessary in cooperating with the evolutionary necessity to bring the cycle to a close.
Thus, is it accurate to say that in the 10 degree orb it might be easier for the soul to resist the evolutionary requirements of the balsamic conjunction because the aspect is so new and they are not yet familiar with and acclimated to the needs of the evolutionary requirement? Obviously they are familiar with the balsamic phase in general, but not it's final step: the balsamic conjunction. And thus, they may manifest another lifetime (or more) after the current one that serves the purpose of bringing this cycle to a total completion.
VS the 1 degree orb which implies the absolute need to bring to completion now, in this lifetime. Of course that too can be resisted, however life dynamics will be pushing more intensely for such a completion because of the need for total culmination.

Hi Rad, I want to clarify this question for orbs to nodal squares.
Is my grasp of this accurate...?
1. A 10 degree separating orb from an exact square would mean that the soul has already begun to resolve the conflict of the nodal square prior to this life and is meant to continue. This however can still be resisted of course.
2. Whereas a wide applying orb to an exact square means the skipped step is just recently formed and the soul is working to (or potentially working to) resolve it for the first time. If not resolved, it will manifest in a future life in some way as to represent the tightening of that orb (not necessarily literally, but the archetypes would be represented).
