Hi Rad,
I have been doing some work related research on the I Ching, specifically on the trigrams as an expression of Natural Law coming from the basic forces of nature and how these simple forces interacting create change, and have some questions i don't know who else to ask. Hope they are appropriate here as I read before JWG mentioned the I-Ching as a system expressing natural law. I personally came to it many years ago but only now came to question its origins and patriarchal influence, 'naturally' relative to the time it was first practiced and the interpretations of it manifesting that influence, if i'm understanding the dates correctly. Do you know if there are previous practices similar to the i-ching in what is called the Matriarchy? Or the system simply reflects these times when humans lived naturally with the possible conditioned interpretation relative to when it was first developed? In essence, are there any real or true interpretations of the natural system of i-ching that you would know of?
I do find an increasing sensitivity in somehow perpetuating any misconceptions relative to all this in whatever ways, hence my question.
Thank you again,
Helena
Hi Helena,
The root of the I-Ching is indeed reflecting Natural Laws: the Hexagrams that start from all white, to all black, with all the different combinations within that. That is indeed natural law. Various interpretations of what that then means is when the patriarchal conditioning tries to shape those natural laws. But it's origin in not the interpretations but the simple and natural fact of the how hexagrams themselves reflect all Natural Laws interacting among and within themselves.
God Bless, Rad
Thank you Rad,
Helena
