Title: (Planet 1) transiting (Natal Planet 2) vs (Planet 2) transiting (Natal Planet 1)
Post by: flossetti on Dec 27, 2019, 09:46 AM
So i have a question about transits, and this might be dumb but... does it matter what order a planet is touching each other or does it not matter as long as they're touching?

lets say for example you have a venus transiting over your natal uranus, would this have the same affect as uranus transiting over your natal venus? if not how does it differ?

thanks

Hi Flossetti,
It does make a difference, though of course in both cases similar archetypes are at play so some themes may be similar.

Start with the natal planet and seek to understand first what that planet reflects within the soul itself. I.E if we are looking at Venus we would ask what are the core inner and outer relationshp needs of this soul and why these needs. We'd go as far as looking at aspects to that planet, the placement of the planetary ruler - all in context of Pluto and the nodes which provides a skeleton foundation for the core evolutionary directive of the soul. So always start with soul context first: the natal chart.

Then we would add the transiting planet. The transiting planet should be understood relative to the natal condition. So Uranus moving over Venus would be Uranian dynamics happening upon a core Venus context.
This is very different than Venus moving over Uranus because Uranus in the natal chart says something entirely different than Venus in the natal chart. They are also likely transiting different houses etc.

The other big difference is time. Months for Uranus in transit vs days for Venus in transit.

All this being said, similar themes can for sure arise since the soul is working with the same forces in both cases. Take for example the Moon which passes over Pluto every month. Surely that is not an evolutionary transition in the same way that we would regard Pluto moving over the Moon. Nevertheless it's a short period of time where evolutionary directive is heightened and this will be felt/experienced by the soul.

Thanks Ari for answering, that makes a lot of sense. I had a feeling they might deal with the same dynamics in a sense but i see how it would be different, especially given how long the transits last.

The way i'm imagining it now is like the natal planet getting a slap to the face. Even though no matter what there's an exchange of energy, you'd def want a slap from the moon than a slap from pluto lol

Appreciate it
