Quick question - when determining the original intent of the phasal relationship between planets (such as Sun in a phasal relationship to Mars), at what point do we trace back in order to find the original intent? Is this intent found when the planets in phasal relationship were last in conjunction together? Or does the original intent mean the Soul's desire as defined by Pluto in the Natal Chart in question? I've been combing through my JWG materials but have not found a clearly defined answer.
HI SarahPea,
When JWG mentions this he was generally referring to the phasal relationships between two planets wherein the original intent correlated to the new phase conjunction between any two planets.

Ah! Lovely. Thank you for clearing up my confusion, Rad ;D

Hi Rad, does the original intent symbolised by the new phase conjunction simply refer to the new phase conjunction in itself, or does it refer to the sign and house placement particular to an individual chart? And if so, is the original intent correlated simply to the sign/house placement of the slower moving planet or is it correlated to the
actual sign/house placement of the new phase conjunction that occurred prior to the birth of the soul?
I.e. Saturn Aquarius 1st house disseminating phase trine with Mars Libra 9th:
Original intent refers to "symbolic" Saturn/Mars new phase conjunction in Aquarius 1st
Or
Original intent refers to the
actual Saturn/Mars new phase conjunction in Capricorn 12th
Thank you
HI LAS,
It refers to the original conjunction of itself. So in your example Saturn in Aquarius, Mars in Libra, it would correlate to Saturn in a new phase conjunction to Mars when it was also in Aquarius: the original intent.
