Hello all, i'm somewhat new to EA and i've been trying to read and understand as much as i can from past posts and discussions, but I'm having a bit of trouble deciphering the 2nd and 8th houses and which part of the archetype is at work.
It is to my understanding that the 2nd house is associated with inner "possessions" in a broad sense (physical, mental, emotional) and would correlate to self sustainability and needs/values; and then 8th house polarity point would relate to possessions and needs as well but from a relationship perspective, which also comes with attachments or securities.
But i'm having trouble figuring out how the themes of planets act in these realms and how the signs play a part. For example i have Neptune in Capricorn in the 2nd and Jupiter & Uranus in Aquarius in the 2nd as well, then Moon in Cancer in the 8th.
Neptune can represent unifying or dissolving or it can represent spiritualization or it can represent where you need to surrender or it can represent confusion or illusions, or it can represent music. Then Uranus can represent higher thinking or sudden change or individualizing or technology or community/networking or detaching. Moon can show where your inner security or identity is or but it can also point to what you should nurture then etc with the rest of the planets
and the same applies to the sign. Is aquarius insisting i detach or is it insisting i integrate into? is cancer askng i nurture or would it represent what i need to eventually shed and reform
How would I pair up where parts of the spectrum will be meeting each other? is it different depending on whether you're reading a transit or natal? Do all of them play out on some level? or is it something you intuit based on the context of your life?
I hope my question is making sense. This question was brought upon by listening to one of the Uranus lectures on the youtube channel and wanting to see where in my chart my "Individuality" or "uniqueness" was signified and not understanding how my individuality could be associated with my possessions or "talents" since thats where everybody is unique
I've attached my chart if context is needed
Hi flossetti,
In order to understand any given symbol in a birth chart from an EA point of view it is essential to understand the individual soul context which is symbolized by first understand the evolutionary state of development, i.e. the four possible evolutionary states, then the underlying EA paradigm in all charts which is symbolized by the natal position of Pluto, it's polarity point, the S.Node of the Moon by house, sign, and aspects to it, and it's planetary ruler by location with aspects to it, and the N.node of the Moon by location by house, sign, and aspects to it, and it's planetary ruler by house and sign location with aspects to it. Once this individual context is established and understood then the WHY of any given symbol in the birth chart can be properly understand, and within that the specific archetypes in which the Soul is drawing upon relative to the total archetypes or spectrum that exists in any given archetype: i.e the 2nd house, 8th house, etc, etc, etc.
One can not just take out of a birth chart this or that planet in this or that sign, etc, and then try to know how it will manifest. This would be no different than taking two or three ingredients out of a pie and trying to then know what kind of pie it is.
I would suggest you visit and read the following thread on this mb that is dedicated to practicing birth charts from an evolutionary astrology point of view: https://forum.schoolofevolutionaryastrology.com/index.php/topic,21.0.html. Over the years there have been other threads dedicated to this which can be discovered through the search engine. Just type in 'practice charts' and that will then bring up all the different threads over the years that have focused on that subject.
God Bless, Rad
Thank you that makes sense, it would be hard to identify what part of the spectrum if you dont know what wavelength one would be operating on. I will look into the stages and try the practice charts to see if i can gain an understanding and piece it all together.
Thanks Rad.
