Hi all,
As part of understanding EA,the forum was of great help in many ways.Practice charts and all form of discussion has provided with great insight .
Any factor in a birth chart has a why? to it and this unfolding of why is seen many times here in the forum through different discussion .But in any of this discussion i was unable to see anything about the Ascendant been connected to the totality of the chart. So my question is that do there is a why ? behind having an ascendant with respect to the totality of the chart. Is there a particular way ,with respect to EA ,to connect the ascendant to souls evolutionary journey.
Thank you
Sree
Hi Sree,
As JWG taught the Ascendant, Mars, and Aries all correlate to what he called a continuous state of becoming. These archetypes correlate to the desires within the Soul to continue to evolve in ever new ways. Thus, the leading edge of it's ongoing evolutionary journey. Everything in EA must be related or connected to the underlying evolutionary paradigm in the birthchart: natal Pluto, it's polarity point, the Lunar Nodes, the location of their planetary rulers. In that individual context in each birthchart the Ascendant, Mars, and Aries will then reflect and correlate to the types of desires the Soul has to become, to evolve, on a continuous basis. This is why these archetypes correlate to an essential need within all Soul for enough freedom in order to act upon these desires. As JWG said these archetypes correlate to the 'leading edge' of the Soul's evolutionary journey.

thank you all for this most unique opportunity to learn!
Does the ascendant, first house, Mars and Aries, in a chart, in any way speak to a place where the native 'left off' in a past life? Is the lesson on the ascendant the 'leading edge' of what was being learned in past lives?
Can the signature on the ascendant relate to 'inherited' tendencies passed down from family that either the native is trying to address or free themselves from?
In very rare cases, can an individual agree to take on the psychic, emotional or physical healing of another family member or loved one?
I often see sons and daughters creating in life, what their parents weren't able to. Can part of an individual's "essential need" to act upon soul desires be in agreement with another person to do so (while still continuing on their own "underlying evolutionary" lessons)?
Hi Marty,

If the planetary ruler of the Ascendant is retrograde, or is in aspect to Pluto, the S.Node of the Moon, or to the planetary ruler of that S.Node, then yes. In this case what is being brought forwards by the Soul are those dynamics yet, in the context of the current life, the Soul is desiring to learn to make new choices, a new cycle, so that it's evolution can proceed.

"Can the signature on the ascendant relate to 'inherited' tendencies passed down from family that either the native is trying to address or free themselves from?"

Yes, because of the Ascendant natural squares to the 10th and 4th Houses.

"In very rare cases, can an individual agree to take on the psychic, emotional or physical healing of another family member or loved one?"

Sure, but this, of itself, does not implicate the Ascendant.

Sure.

Hi Rad,
In pluto book 2 Mars is taken as that through which the desire nature of pluto is consciously acted out;is the same applicable to ascendant .
Do we also take into consideration the phasal relationship of ascendant and pluto as that of mars and pluto.
Thank you
Sree
Hi Sree,
Yes, to both questions.

Hi Rad
In the below thread you have referred about a post on the relationship of Mars to Pluto that has been discussed before;but some how i can't find it out.So it will be helpful if you can direct me to that post.

This is the part of the thread where you wrote about Mars and Pluto relation
Quote....I'd love to read a discussion on interceptions, especially where Pluto is concerned.
Discussion about planetary nodes, applying a similar perspective to what is applied when discussing the Moon and its North and South nodes.
Discussion concerning Mars' role in consciously acting out Pluto's subconscious desires, evolutionary intentions.
How Pluto's subconscious/past evolutionary intentions are on the one hand relevant and of aid to the present lifetime whilst also a source of stagnation and something to move on and away from in the present lifetime.
That's all I can think of for now.

Hi Rad,
That was really helpful but have read it before here in the forum and also have read it from
the journal of evolutionary astrology. What i was looking is to see how in practice
this Mars , Ascendant and Aries-leading edge of evolution - as a whole get read.Again thanks for all that this incredible forum has provided ;it was helpful beyond words.......
Having a feeling that i am asking too much.
Thank you
Sree
Hi Sree,
The best thing to do this is to apply these EA principles to your own chart, or the chart(s) of those whom you know well in your life. These principles will then speak for themselves by way of your or others actual lives. You can also examine the birthchart of Amelia Earhart in the Venus and it's Nodal Axis thread focusing on her Taurus Ascendant, the ruler being Venus in Gemini conjunct Neptune in her 2nd House, Aries on the 12th House cusp, and it's ruler being in Virgo conjunct Jupiter in her 5th, which is also conjunct her S.Node of Venus. The very nature of her actual life reflects these natural EA principles. Start you thinking/ analysis with this archetype: the search and need for meaning relative to her Taurus
Ascendant.
