Hello EA members,


Welcome!


We are excited to announce the introduction of an upcoming new topic to our message board:




G U I D E L I N E S


(1)  This will be the "Prep thread" where we can make suggestions, share ideas, ask questions, and discuss the Guidelines and Ground Rules for these threads.  We began with ONE volunteer thread first so that the EA Council could see how it went, before introducing the other threads.  All 4 volunteer threads are now active.

We have in total 4 volunteers all ready to share their real life experiences with us!  Each volunteer begins a new thread.  These volunteers were selected from the "Friends of Jeffrey Wolf Green Evolutionary Astrology" Facebook group.  Those who are EA students, long-term message board members, or have an avid interest in EA were chosen.  We began with the first volunteer - "Jen" in her own thread - and the other 3 volunteer threads began in the New Year 2015.

(2)  Each thread will begin with a medium-length Pluto paradigm (submitted by both volunteer and EA members).  Volunteers will relay their real life experiences, and these will be correlated to the current transits.  With experienced EA astrologers submitting their opinions and insights, the intent of these threads is to inspire and educate students to learn more about the practical application of EA to real life dynamics. Volunteers and EA astrologers will work together as a team.

(3)  Linda and Cat will be your "Hostesses" for these threads.  

(4)  This will be a GROUP project, so EA members at all levels are invited to join in.  

(5)  This project is strictly for "Educational Purposes Only."

(6)  DISCLAIMER:  The comments, opinions, insights, and analyses posted by members of the School of Evolutionary Astrology be they students or practicing astrologers, are intended to serve those students who are engaged in learning Evolutionary Astrology. All content posted in the "Personal: In-depth EA Chart and Transit Analysis" section of the EA message board is For Educational Purposes Only.  The administrators and participants of the School of Evolutionary Astrology disclaim any liability in connection with the contents of this thread.

(7)  SENSITIVE MATERIAL:  Please contact Linda or Cat if any volunteer wishes to remove any content from the project that is sensitive, too personal or harmful. Volunteers' real identities will remain confidential at all times before, during and after the project.  Volunteers do not have to answer any questions that they do not wish to answer.  Volunteers will be free to leave the project at any time.

(8 )  COUNSELING POLICY:  Although we have professional astrologers participating, no counseling will be undertaken.  The group, as a whole, will not be qualified to offer counseling to the volunteers.  Counseling is not suitable in an on-line environment.

(9)   Astrologers and members who participate will be asked to stick to certain parameters:

-      To refrain from advice-giving and recommendation-making.
-      To stick to offering EA paradigm and information.
-      To widen the consciousness and awareness.
-      To offer evolutionary ways and perspectives of looking at things.
-      To empower the volunteers to make their own decisions.
-      To refrain from crossing the line consciously or unconsciously and start suggesting
       what a volunteer should or should not do.
-      To refrain from discussing very sensitive issues in-depth.
-      To refrain from providing answers, solving problems, giving readings, or predicting the future.

(10)  Cat and Linda will step in and "moderate" at times so that the Guidelines are upheld.  However, all advanced EA members will be authorized to take the initiative and moderate where necessary.

(11)  To be posted at the beginning of each thread:  birth chart with planetary nodes and aspect grid (some volunteers will have the birth data blank), a questionnaire, short biography, timeline of important life events.  Soon thereafter:  current transits, progressions, celestial events.

(12)  Each volunteer will be known by a pseudonym.  Their true identities will never be revealed.  Only Linda and Cat know the volunteers' true identities.

(13)  Each volunteer will submit a short Pluto paradigm of their own chart beginning with their evolutionary condition (Consensus, Individuated, or Spiritual - and the sub-stage).

(14)  Each member/astrologer will be invited to submit a short Pluto paradigm of the volunteer's chart.  Please keep these Pluto paradigm assignments medium-sized - not thesis-style - as we don't want to overwhelm the volunteer with too much information.

(15)  Next, we will ask the volunteer the all-important EA question, "Why are you here?"

(16)  Volunteers will relay "real life events" as per their choice, and as time permits.  Real life events will be correlated to current transits.  For this purpose, tri-wheels (made up of natal, transits, and progressions) will be posted, together with interaspects.  

(17)  EA astrologers and members to play "EA detectives."

(18)  The following will take place in no particular order:  

-      Pinpointing and discussing the EA astrological/psychological dynamics correlating to the transits.
-      Discussion.  Analysis.  Commentary.  
-      Q & A both ways.  
-      Quick dynamics/specific questions:  to keep things moving along.
-      Each volunteer shares EA lessons and insights along the way.

(19)  Subconscious content.  Correlating repeating patterns to the chart.  If they wish, volunteers can share repeating patterns or issues they have noticed in their life that surface in various areas such as:

-      relationships (friends, family, or intimate)
-      career/work
-      self-expression (creativity, personal growth)
-      spiritual
-      or any other area.

For example, these repeating patterns can begin with:

"I always........... "
"I never............ "
"I must............"
"I can't............"

(20)  Linda and Cat:

-      will send regular updates of current planets, transits, progressions, and other celestial events.
-      will post articles, videos, book recommendations, etc. to keep things informative and interesting.
-      will quote sections from the EA Glossary, providing EA teachings and techniques.

(21)  Rad will respond to questions asked of him, and will read the threads to keep abreast of what is happening.

I want everyone to know that Cat is an AMAZING ideas person, and she also has the most incredible natural conflict resolution skills .... so thank you Cat so much for sharing this task with me!  I could never do this alone.  So happy that this is a GROUP project!


Yes, Skywalker, the chart is pretty good for our purposes!  Pluto in the 9th, and a good bunch of planets in the 7th (sharing), and in the 8th (EA Soul depth).  There are Mars skipped steps, with resolution through the North Node Libra 6th.  The PPP in the 3rd .... so lots of analysis, detail, information, service, sharing and caring!


So good to have you on board Imsara!  I look forward to your input very much indeed!

Thank you Linda and Cat for opening this space.  It has great promise to be a wonderful healing and teaching experience for all involved.  The current Uranus-SN, SN-Eris conjunction is certainly stirring things up and creating some room (this room?) for change, not to mention Jupiter and Lilith adding more fire to the mix. We are blessed to live in interesting times, yes? Time to move past restrictions and claim our truth.

Your quote got me thinking about "healing."  With so many Neptune squares in the birth chart of this project, this can be a fascinating area of discussion, whereby we can ask:

Is the astrologer getting into a saviour or god complex?  (Neptune)

Does the astrologer think he/she can "save" or "heal" the client?

What is the true role of the astrologer?

Thank you for your gracious welcome.

IMHO, the role of the astrologer is to simply and directly address the needs of the client. Nothing more, nothing less.  Mark Jones explains it quite aptly...astrologers often fall into the "wizard syndrome", using the consulting session as the opportunity to tell the client everything that they might know about their chart, rather than limiting the work to the specifics that brought the client to the reading in the first place. We only have a limited time, perhaps only an hour or so to give them the information that are seeking. Everything else simply clutters the consultation and becomes TMI for the client to absorb and process.

Clearly, the work of this volunteer thread is not a consultation, but rather a chart clinic where we are working together as a team, with the volunteers, to help them understand the signatures, themes, and dynamics active in their own charts. The old adage is operative here: "If you give a man a fish, he can eat for a day.  If you teach him how to fish, he can eat for a lifetime."

Just a quick note to say that it's important to understand that the volunteers and EA astrologers will all be working together as a team to create a learning environment.

I will clarify that these threads will be For Educational Purposes Only (and not really a "clinic").  ;)

Btw, would you care to post your MP3 that I heard today:  Planetary Moment for November 23rd, 2014 ... as it describes many of the planetary positions and aspects of the birth chart for our group ... and I would love to listen to it again.

This is all a very novel idea!

I'd like to make a comment before things begin.

The evolutionary stage of a person is a critical factor in accurate EA delineation. And it's not necessarily easy to determine this. However it's always a vital part of the EA process.

It needs at a minimum some familiarity with a person's behavior, but usually close observation of the person's actions and personal interaction with them. Of course sometimes a person's stage is blatantly obvious with just a "glance or two" in their direction and from a distance at that. But often it is much more difficult to accurately pinpoint than this. And of course it can be difficult to see one's own precise stage for oneself.
 
If I understand it rightly the volunteers are going to tell us their evolutionary stage. I just wonder if they will be able to do this accurately?

Will we need to clarify this at the very beginning sometimes?

In my own practice of EA, after describing the Evolutionary Stages, I simply ask the client, "What Evolutionary Stage do you think you are in?"  Astonishingly, I always receive an answer!  Sometimes it surprises me how quickly people answer this question, and how certain they can be of their stage.

Years ago, here on the message board, the penny suddenly dropped for me, when I realized something critical, and then shared this key statement:  

"In the past, I tried to gauge the evolutionary condition of my "personality," and found that it could be categorized under ALL THREE of the states outlined!  I had to dig deeper and deeper, peel more and more layers off, in order to reveal the evolutionary condition of the Soul.  I found that the deepest underlying desire has always been to know God/Goddess and that desire permeates the whole life.  Once this realization of my evolutionary condition became established there took place an anchoring in trust and faith. To determine the evolutionary state of the Soul, we look at the nature of the Soul, and not the personality which is just an expression of the Soul."


All volunteers gave an estimate (or guesstimate) of their Evolutionary Stage, as follows:

Jen:  "Spiritual stage - I find it difficult to define which level as I resonate with parts of all of the spiritual states. I have been going through rapid changes within my consciousness these past years and feel as though I am shifting rapidly to 'catch up to' or align with where I truly am on a soul level."

Volunteer 2: "I don't know but would say 3rd stage individuated, beginning."

Volunteer 3: "3rd Individuated."

Volunteer 4:  "I do not know enough to discern but feel I lean toward later Individuated, early Spiritual "¦ I need more research time."

Volunteer 5:  "Not sure - but I identify with Individuated C. But I feel that I have fluctuated through all of the descriptions at different times in my life."

Volunteer 6:  "I would guess first subdivision in the Spiritual state or transitioning from 3rd stage Individuated to 1st stage Spiritual. My clarity and peace came when I stopped being at war with what is and with those who believe their thoughts. Whereas I used to feel completely isolated and angry with the
system, to quote Byron Katie « No one has ever been angry at another human being-we're only angry at our story of them »  When I changed my work a couple of years ago I asked God/Goddess to help me find a way to contribute to the good of all and whilst my job is [withheld] . . .  which really help people in their lives. The anger and rebellion has gone and I feel a compassion for myself and others that feels like 1st stage Spiritual."

We will need to clarify Evolutionary Stage at the beginning of each thread.  Any ideas how this can be done, Upasika and anyone else?  Is there a set of questions that EA astrologers ask their clients?

I always ask the client if there is a specific question that they have; a set of circumstances that they would like to know about. This can clearly reveal the expression of their Mars (conscious desires), and sometimes their Soul desire as well. The 2 biggies are love (intimate and family relationships), and money (finances, job, career, etc) which are not quite as defining, because obviously, regardless of what EA stage we are moving through, we all have these needs. Then, I always ask if they were raised in a specific religious or spiritual teaching, and where they are with it now; do they have a practice, how do they categorize their belief system, and so on.  Both of these  questions begin to expose the EA "zone" that they fall into. As the client begins to  relates their life experiences, as the consultation progresses, more of the what is below the surface begins to emerge. I agree with you that many of us exhibit a hybrid stage.  Our Soul longs for home, but we still have some unresolved desires, skipped steps, etc. We are all "moving targets". FWIW, I recognize that the degree of innate creativity expressed as art, music, writing, etc., in a person's life points toward progression through the Individuated stage. In general, because of the very nature of our work, I find that rarely, if ever, I attract someone still rooted in Consensus stage. Those that are reveal a sense of growing dissatisfaction and the recognition that "there must be something more." Certainly each person who comes to us is as different as they are similar.

I do agree that having the individual place themselves in the spectrum can be less than accurate, but it does reveal who they want to be.

Hi All,

One thing to consider when a person says that they can identify with different parts of the four natural evolutionary states is the fact that all charts have an 11th House, the planet Uranus, the sign of Aquarius somewhere, all have a Neptune, 12th House, and the sign Pisces somewhere. Thus even if a Soul is entrenched in the Saturn, Cap, 10th House consensus evolutionary state they will identify, in some way, with the archetypes that are attempting to evolve them beyond that. This of course also applies to someone, say, in the 1st stage individuated in that they will identify with these ongoing evolutionary archetypes that are attempting to lead them forwards.

This can also be understood relative the the various planetary phases that exist within a birth between any two planets. The Last Quarter and Balsamic Phases are also archetypes who intent is to help the Soul evolve beyond where it currently is. Thus, any two planets in such phases will correlate to those archetypes that exist with the CURRENT STATE OF EVOLUTIONARY CONSCIOUSNESS FOR ANY GIVEN SOUL.

Yet, in all charts, all Souls, there is a BOTTOM LINE evolutionary state they are are in, and where they come from. And that, is indeed, the most important thing to understand in EA, and, thus, helping those that come to us for help.

I have read through the links and have discerned myself to be in first stage spirituated based on the incredibly
Accurate description in the posting by Rad, I believe, titled the four evolutionary stages and their three sub-stages.
I am truly at the point described where my strongest desire is to reach out to help but where I become locked into inaction and procrastination loosely excused as perfectionism. It is only self doubt.

You have shared that you can relate to the following:


First sub-division of the Spiritual State


a) In the first subdivision in the Spiritual State, the Soul progressively becomes aware of just how 'small' it is, because of the increasing universal dimensions that are occurring within its consciousness. This is vastly different than being the center of one's own universe, as reflected in the consensus state for example. Of itself, this has a naturally humbling effect on the Soul, and thus the current subjective ego, Moon, that it has created. It is exactly this naturally humbling archetype that progressively allows the center of gravity to shift within the Soul's consciousness from the subjective ego to the Soul itself, and ultimately to a conscious union with the Source Of All Things.

As a result, the Soul desires to progressively commit itself to the desire to reunite with the Source. As this occurs, the Soul will progressively commit itself to devotional types of spiritual practice in this subdivision. Within this, the Soul desires to commit itself to various forms of work that all correlate to being of service to the larger whole, of service to others in some way.

Many will naturally want to orient to various forms of the healing arts or to start "˜centers' in which the healing arts in some way are the focus. The core issue here is that the Soul desires to do a work on behalf of the Source Of All Things, and to use the work as a vehicle through which The Source can be inwardly experienced because of the nature of the work. In the East this is called Karma Yoga.

In this first subdivision, the Soul becomes progressively aware of all that it needs to improve upon within itself. A heightened state of awareness occurs that makes the Soul aware of all its imperfections and, as a result, the Soul can now become highly self-critical. Even though this is natural, it also creates a potential danger or trap to the Soul in that this heightened state of critical self-awareness can cause the Soul to not feel "˜good enough' or "˜ready' to do the task, or work, that it is being inwardly directed to do.

This then sets in motion all kinds of excuse making, always manifesting as perfectly rational arguments, of why the Soul will not do what it should do when it should do it. The way out of this trap is to realize that the path to "˜perfection' occurs by taking one step at a time.

As evolution progresses through this first subdivision, the Soul will increasingly have direct perception of the 'single eye', or the third eye, which is inherent to consciousness. As a result, this perception allows the Soul to merge with that single eye in such a way that various types and states of cosmic consciousness will occur, which will lead into the second subdivision within the spiritual state.

At this stage, this is just the "Prep Thread" - initial prep for the upcoming volunteer threads.


Along with sharing our ideas and suggestions, we're discussing (generally) how to determine Evolutionary Stage right now.  One volunteer - "Eos" - has chimed in, and I believe another volunteer will be sharing her thoughts on Evolutionary Stage too, in this thread.


All volunteers will be using a pseudonym, and all have charts - but these will be posted later down the line.

The chart that has been posted is a chart for this project, not one of the volunteers. Hopefully each of the volunteer charts, along with all the other info you mention, will be in a separate thread of its own.

EVOLUTIONARY STAGE

I would like to introduce myself. I am "Jen" volunteer 1 :)  I am very much looking forward to this experience.

I have spent some time reading through the links and still feel unsure as to what evolutionary sub-stage I am in of the spiritual stages. I would like to say that I am 1st stage spiritual although I resonate with the 3rd stage spiritual. Maybe this is because of the strong Neptune influence in my chart. I have used the guidelines to give an indication below.

I feel that I am "able to simultaneously experience its specific individuality as reflected in the ego, while at the same time experiencing, being centered in, the Soul" but sometimes I act out of line with my souls better understanding and then experience guilt as a result. I use this as a guideline to act differently the next time such a situation arises. I understand that the "path to "˜perfection' occurs by taking one step at a time."

I believe that I have prior life memories but they are understood slightly differently to normal memories. They are more like stories and experiences that I have lived in this life that I have a deep emotional connection to which I will have an inner knowing that these are prior life stories. Others will come through dreams that I know are of prior lives.  

I feel that my "Soul is inwardly attuned to the Source Of All Things in such a way that it perceives itself as but a singular manifestation of the Source. Simultaneously, the Soul perceives all others, all of Creation, as manifestations of that Source."

I am not devoted to any practices of a spiritual nature. I feel that I have incarnated to experience the physical reality on earth so I am not purposefully attempting to merge with what I know I have come from and what I essentially am and will return to. But I am Inwardly attuned to source and devoted to whatever I feel guided to do in this life.

I appreciate any input that could help clarify.

You were chosen to be our first volunteer.  Your thread will begin early December.  We are all looking forward to working with you!

In the meantime, Upasika brought up the critical question of evolutionary stage.  Reading a few articles and then picking the stage that you relate with is one way you can determine Evolutionary Stage in this on-line exercise.  Not sure how reliable that is going to be though.  

3rd stage Spiritual souls are Jesus, Buddha, Saint Teresa, etc. ~ and it's unlikely that any of us are in that
stage.  Having an abundant Neptune archetype could mean you identify with spirituality in general, however your quote indicates, to me, that you are in 1st stage Spiritual, because "guilt" correlates to the Virgo archetype, and the 1st stage Spiritual is Virgo-like.

I appreciate and understand Evolutionary Stages from a global perspective and it's fundamental in understanding how different archetypes live out differently in different people; But there are some descriptions and examples of Evolutionary Stages that i question and don't understand. It's a really complex discussion. Thanks Linda for the links to previous threads. I suppose my biggest question is concerning the proportions of people in each stage. I cannot believe that's its a constantly static proportion of the population. We are living in such extraordinary times of change. Are there not larger proportions of consensus moving into individuated? And possibly the same is true from individuated to spirituated but to a much smaller degree (or not) these are simply questions i ask myself?

And when transitioning from one stage to the next, is that logically where we feel we can relate to both (all) the stages simultaneously? Rad's comment's certainly help clarify that feeling:

Hi Jen,

Just a quick comment re your experiencing guilt...

While it's true as Linda said a certain kind of guilt is a hallmark of the 1st spiritual stage, guilt itself can arise for all manner of reasons, and in different stages - it isn't exclusive to 1st spiritual. Also for example really wanting to help others on a deep level can occur in 3rd individuated as well as in the spiritual stage.

So for example, it's necessary to be as clear as possible about the nature of the guilt - if it has a pattern it may not necessarily be indicative of 1st spiritual, instead it may be a specific karmic issue. If it's more generalized however it may be indicative of 1st spiritual.

Also talking now in a more general vein, it's natural to aspire to be the best we can be, and this may lead to identifying with a stage that appeals to us. However it's very important to get our stage correct as otherwise the real meaning of our whole chart can be missed, and that is of no use at all. When our evolutionary stage is correctly assessed everything in the chart becomes so much easier to comprehend in terms of karmic links between lifetimes up to the present, thus leading to the true liberating understanding of the present - understanding that sets us free no matter what stage we are in. So it's much more important to get our stage right than what that stage/sub-stage actually is.

And even though there are 3 main stages, and 3 substages with each stage, there are even further divisions. For example take the 3rd stage individuated - a substage of the Individuated stage. It itself has 3 stages (so these are sub-sub-stages). The beginning if 3rd stage individuated, the middle, and the end of 3rd stage individuated. There is no question the person is in the final individuated stage, but these different parts of that process are all different from each other, especially the beginning of the 3rd individuated and the end of it are noticeably different - at the beginning of the 3rd individuating it's like coming to rest by a cool bubbling stream on a hillside after bracing the hot steamy canyons of the 2nd individuated for so long. The end of the 3rd individuated stage is very different from this, its like being in a large riverboat moving effortlessly downstream on a large river, and sensing that not far away, soon the river will emerge into the sea itself. There is intense anticipation of something magical about to take place when the river will give way to the ocean, yet sometimes reluctance to give up the pleasures and richness of the river, all its variety, its lush banks, its homeliness, its abundant bounty and its comforts, its many places to rest.

Then in between each main stage (consensus, individuated and spiritual) are transition voids, where a strong vortex of evolutionary pressure swirls, where the past and future are like strong tides pulling the soul in alternative directions, a pull for a while forward into the new, then a pull back into the past, a seesaw process for a while during which time it can be confusing for the soul until it sheds its doubts and overcomes its fears and stabilizes its journey on the new level of vibration. (And in fact this process happens in a lessor way between the substages in each stage too.)

First spiritual is finally leaving the riverboat on the shore and swimming out to sea, naked. Initially can be great doubt as to whether this is even sane. Especially in the beginning, 24 hours a day feeling tiny. From feeling hugely uplifted at times and in others feeling very vulnerable and unsteady. Trust is paramount.

I'm not suggesting that you are not in the spiritual stage at all, and my immediate previous paragraphs were speaking generally. But rather I am just commenting on your own brief comments about why you feel you are the stage you are, and saying that it is good to qualify our reasons as much as possible to make sure we are on track. For instance, as Rad pointed out a chart with extensive Neptune aspects and/or a 12th house and/or Pisces emphasis can certainly make one feel spiritual.

And also as Linda pointed out there is a different feeling to things at a soul level that just reverberate so deeply true. But we must bear in mind that for many of us we are not always conscious at the soul level all the time.

While conscious desires at a Mars level do all come form the Soul, they are often noisy and contain much static. It generally takes some reflection upon oneself (and ideally some meditation of some kind - natural and/or practiced) to see ourselves intuitively and objectively enough to see our essential core desires that reveal our true evolutionary sub-stage.

EVOLUTIONARY STAGES

I totally agree with the importance of correctly assessing the evolutionary stage and I do not have any desire to be in any stage but only to get it right according to the given definitions. I realize that it can be difficult to fully comprehend the experiences described from a lower stage of consciousness and see that this can be the very issue at hand when trying to assess for oneself. I do not in any way believe myself to be spiritually advanced in a Jesus or Buddha like way and this was my dilemma when trying to assess the state.

When it comes to the guilt, it is mostly about not being good enough or not acting/reacting to life situations according to my inner knowing. I feel the need to apologize, then apologize for apologizing.  ::)
This was reduced when I was detached through spiritual practices but I felt like I wasn't really learning how to apply and integrate my inner knowing then. I understand that the standard I put on myself are not always compassionate of my human nature and part of my daily challenge is about being more accepting and remembering that the value is in the effort.

I resonate with the spiritual state in general and believe myself to be categorized on this level and after further assessment I am more sure of 1st stage. I struggle with the definitions of what is considered spiritual devotion and spiritual practice for example. I do believe that I practice spirituality in my daily life through observation evaluation and adjustment. I feel that I am in my physical mental reality but observing it from my soul. I spent some time with practices that shifted my perception to being in the soul observing my physical reality but felt that this removed my emotional experience of life and connection to the world. I feel that much of my own journey has been about accepting the physical and have found peace within myself through embracing love and acceptance and universal truths. My mind is very quiet and I receive guidance, insights and premonitions very clearly without focusing or trying. This also helps me pick up on misalignments within myself.

I hope that this can help clarify. The words can be so limiting when trying to portray ones inner vibration in such a brief manner.

I'm wondering if we should try thinking of examples of each stage/substage combination. This may make it easier. We have already identified Christ and Buddha as 3rd Stage spiritual.  This makes it easier for many of us to know we are not at that level yet :-)  I am thinking that examples of other stages may help as well. 

I once did a practice chart on Mother Teresa. Without giving it a lot of thought, Spiritual Stage is the first thing that comes to mind due to all of her devotion to God and service to humanity, right?  She was actually third stage Consensus. 

Please feel free to post further examples.  We can then put them into a chart that everyone can refer to. This may help some people.

Your highlighted sentences indicate a "maturity" and a "stability" in the 1st stage Spiritual.  I would place you in the transition from 2nd sub-stage of 1st stage Spiritual (established) which is rather like the "fixed" energies (stable), and moving towards the 3rd sub-stage (culminating) which is rather like the "mutable" energies. These are about the Soul desiring experimentation, to move forward, to do more, try more, make changes, and make the transition.

The transition from any stage or sub-stage to the next is described by a sense of "there must be more than this."

From your quote, I sense a stability but also a sense of "there must be more than this."

EVOLUTIONARY STAGE

I have been reflecting on how to describe where I am and would like to describe it as stable yet ever shifting. Shifting in a sense that I do not know what I will know tomorrow and stable because that is okay. I am not sure if I feel that there must be something more.. I do, but I am not searching for it. I know that there is more and trust that it will come to me at the right time. My main focus has been on letting go. Removing definitions of myself and everything that has been known. Removing all attachments, knowledge, fears. Being completely open honest and vulnerable. Shedding layer beyond layer of personal, social, cultural and patriarchal conditioning until there seems to be nothing. But there is also everything. Attuning to the flow and guidance of source and to completely surrendering to that guidance. I feel connected and safe. Applying this to daily life is the challenge.

This is the most accurate description of where I am. I truly value and appreciate your input and assessment of my stage and sub-stage and I trust that you have the experience and objective perspective to do so better than myself. I am not sure if the description above changes anything.

For me, I can think of two things that would be helpful with my understanding of Evolutionary States and this process. 1) A clearer idea of what behaviors and choices would not be made within a certain state/ sub-state i.e. throw a little oil in the water to see how they divide. (Relying on the more experienced folks here.) 2) From the volunteers, some clear WHY's as to their perceived Evolutionary State i.e. quick run down of examples of real events, circumstances, choices. Evidence vs. conjecture.

Maybe, for the other six we could get the bio/ intake at the same time, and then get into pinning down the state/sub-state?

I think you're 1st spiritual because it's all starting to add up to that. I find that's often what it comes down to, lots of things all pointing in the same direction. Now that you have said more about yourself it is making it clearer.

These are things that stand out for me, which taken together I feel start adding up to 1st spiritual:

And Linda, yes that's spot on to me about the sub-sub-stages being cardinal, fixed and mutable like. As long as we remember that many lives can be spent even in a sub-sub-stage so it all plays out over a very long timeframe. And I also agree that the transitions are about feeling empty handed, discontented, feeling the need inwardly to move on.

I also feel you're right too about Jen being stable within the 1st spiritual, feels mature and steady. I think you could be right that Jen is between the middle and last sub-stage of 1st stage spiritual.  

And also Cat and Katherine calling for concrete examples of people in each stage and sub-stage, and disparate behaviors and choices also makes a lot of sense (although we'd need a bit of time to put that together)

Accurate Determination of Evolutionary Stages


It is extremely important to understand no astrologer can determine which evolutionary condition exists for any Soul by simply looking at the birth chart alone. The astrologer must observe and interact with the client in order for this determination to be made. A good way to do this is in a counseling situation where a client has come to the astrologer, is to simply ask the client why they are there, and what questions do they have. Generally, the very nature of the questions that the client has will clue the astrologer as to what evolutionary condition exists for that client. For example, if one client asks, "When can I expect enlightenment," and another asks, "When will I have my new BMW," there clearly is an observed difference reflecting the level of evolutionary progression of the Soul. (Rad)


To accurately determine the evolutionary stage for any Soul one has to understand the totality of that Soul's reality. To isolate upon one dynamic, as in a desire to be "˜seen,' will not, of itself be an indicator as to what the evolutionary stage is for any Soul. It is essential to know what any Soul's inner orientation to external reality is, what the bottom line within them is about as a core orientation to reality, to really know what the evolutionary stage is. The descriptions of the Four Evolutionary Stages, and their sub-stages, reflect what the core orientations to reality are for any possible Soul. The desire to be "˜seen,' in and of itself, comes from the Leo archetype. And, by the way, by the time the Soul evolves to the beginning of the 3rd stage Spiritual there will no longer be any desire to be "˜seen' from an egocentric point of view. Quite the opposite: an increasing desire to be unseen. (Rad)


The evolutionary stage is the evolutionary stage of the Soul, not of the personality. Without seeing the nature of the Soul you have no way to know the cause of the external phenomena you observe. You have to grasp the nature of the Soul. The externals, the personality, are EXPRESSIONS of the Soul. Each Soul will have its own reasons for having some external expression - unique to each Soul based on its past and the desire nature of that Soul. Without seeing the "why" behind the expression, you can't draw conclusions based on just the expression. In the chart we get clues to the nature of the Soul from the location of Pluto by house and sign, the location of Pluto's South Node by house and sign, the aspects Pluto is making to other planets by house and sign. Some of this may seem intangible. From my experience learning these things, if you keep working with it, gradually an inner light will turn on, an "aha" occurs, and you start grasping it from the inside out. (Steve)


The trick of learning the stages is to grasp the underlying psychological archetypes associated with a stage. Then you can begin to recognize that archetype playing out in various forms. 1st stage Individuated - are different, yet afraid to be different - pretend to be normal, are not. 2nd stage Individuated - look very different, have deep anger about the way things are, underneath, fear being pulled back into Consensus. 3rd stage Individuated - individuality fully formed - no way they can be pulled back to Consensus. They seek to reform, improve, transform the world for the better. 1st stage Spiritual - feel very small, desire to serve, spirituality of a devotional nature. (Steve)


When trying to discern the stage someone is in when they SEEM to be split between two stages. It could be said for someone in 3rd stage Individuated moving toward, or on the cusp of 1st stage Spiritual: they HAVE to do the same kinds of things the 1st stage Spiritual person would do in order to MOVE to that stage. I was hanging on to the last vestiges of "but surely if there is this or that signature it must have some reflection, even if indicating in the smallest of ways, that the person might be in evolutionary stage "˜X'" etc. This was because I was new to EA, and still subconsciously coming from the traditional western astrology paradigm. Over the last while I've been forced to evaluate the evolutionary stage and sub-stage of several people I'm karmically connected with, in order to clarify my ongoing relationship to/with them. This has taken a lot of internal thought and contemplation. And it's made it totally clear to me, yet again, how the evolutionary stage of a person and their chart are totally completely different things. I have always operated on that basis since, but it's absolutely as clear as day now - it's become something I know now as my own experience at a core level. (Upasika)


What I have learned (and continue to learn) is EA works because it is aligned with, is a symbolic expression of, how life actually works. Beyond theory and intellectual constructs. Just, bottom line, how it actually is. So, as we increasingly see that, we see the principles EA expresses playing out in our lives. No astrology is required - they are simply there. To me one of the main gifts EA offers is it lets us objectify what we are experiencing - to step back from our subjective perspective and simply see what is going on without personal emotional investment. The way I look at it, a natal chart is a blueprint, a script. That script can be fleshed out in many ways - each Soul is going to play it out differently, based on its past, its desire nature, and its evolutionary station. So a 1st stage Consensus and a 1st stage Spiritual Soul could be born at the same moment. They have entirely different reasons for picking that moment and they are going to play that script out quite differently. And yet, there will be similarities. Jeffrey quoting Sri Yukteswar in the beginning of Pluto Vol. 1 - "A child is born on that day and at that hour when the celestial rays are in mathematical harmony with his individual karma." A friend of mine with interest in astrology has recently met someone on-line she doesn't know, who was born two minutes after her, same day and year, 700 miles apart in the US. They are having quite a time comparing notes. They are finding it's as I said above - they have uncanny similarities, yet they each have fleshed that script out in their own unique and different, yet similar, ways. (Steve)

It seems to me that Jen your Neptune skipped step, with Pisces the sign of south Node in the first, and that loaded North Node, ruled by the Mercury Jupiter trining Neptune, suggests it is a lifetime that you become an inspired teacher, one who has moved beyond the personality of religion, as well as limiting belief systems of any kind.

This is the first time we've attempted to work on a thread such as this.

Too demanding?
Would you like some time off?

We're trying to work out how to proceed with the thread. 
If you're not coping in any way, or would like to make some suggestions, we will make the adjustments.

Thanks for checking in with me. :-) Everything is just fine. I think it's all very exciting and interesting. I don't feel overwhelmed or anything but my writing time is sometimes restricted as i am busy with the children so I have to wait for me time ;-)  I hope I don't hold things up.

Nothing is to difficult or personal or sensitive. I have processed and understood life/prior life traumas prior to this so I doubt there will be any difficulty dealing with any sensitive issues. And if anything should trigger an emotional process then that is part of my own growth and i would be grateful for the understanding.

I will try my best to respond to all questions and posts.

Hi Jen,


Please don't ever worry about holding things up.  We all have busy lives.  There's a right time for replying to the thread.  It will move along in its own time.

Things will probably move slowly over the holiday period ... and that's absolutely fine.  We all need that break.
