Hi All,

Not sure I've ever seen a definition of the Soul on the board or in the EA materials I've read.  I've been thinking about it with regard to the water triad and sort of realized I don't know really how to define it so was wondering if anyone could offer a suitable EA definition.

Thanks!
Ellen

Hi Ellen

It has been defined as an individual consciousness/energy that is inmutable, ie. cannot be destroyed.

In this link there is an EA explanation about the nature of the Soul:

Hi Gonzalo,
Thank you for your patient reply!  I could not remember that for the life of me & as soon as I read it it all came back...

To see if I have it right: Source is all-encompassing consciousness (Pisces). Soul (Scorpio) is the individualizing aspect of Source consciousness.  And ego (Cancer) is the further individualizing aspect of Soul.  Is this correct?

Well wishes,
Ellen

Hi Linda

QuoteSource is all-encompassing consciousness (Pisces). Soul (Scorpio) is the individualizing aspect of Source consciousness.  And ego (Cancer) is the further individualizing aspect of Soul.

... this seems correct to me ...

Hi Ellen, here are some further thoughts about the triad.

The self image (Cancer) of the soul is very variable. It can range from a gross identification with the body and the total circumstances of it's human life (Ego linked with Saturn = identity that is defined by time and space: consensus state). Or on the other extreme, the soul can be fully aware of its oneness with source (Ego linked with Neptune= Identity that is transcendent of time and space: spiritual state).

In both cases there exists a human form and a unique social background and conditioning (Saturn) however depending on the soul's level of Awareness, or God realization, it will identify more or less with that form.

The soul is that immutable consciousness that is on a journey of Self rememberance. The only thing that changes is the Evolutionary state of the soul. That evolutionary state manifests itself accordingly through what it is emotionally concerned with (ego).

Hi everyone,

thank you for that info.

Still learning. May I ask a question to better my understanding of the triad houses.

What would be the meaning if say, water signs were ruling the water houses.

e.g.    Scorpio on the cusp 4th house, Pisces on the cusp of 8th house, and Cancer on the cusp of the 12th house, with Pluto in the 12th house.

many thanks and love,

Jane

Hi Jane, of course as a rule the entire context of the chart needs to be taken into consideration - in particular the placement of the planetary rulers of those houses.

Any kind of synthesis between water signs and houses emphasizes the underlying spiritual truth behind the human identity in the first place. Depending on evolutionary state that will be understood in different ways.

Would you like to give a shot at interpreting the general meaning of any of the signatures you mentioned - from the point of view of the God soul ego relationship? This would apply to any combination of the water archetypes (such as Pluto in the 12th house or Neptune square Moon) I'll help you out if you'd like.

God bless,
Ari Moshe

Hi Ari,
Thank you.  This is all very helpful.  I was going to highlight the parts that were especially so for me, but it was turning out to be the whole thing! :D

Warmly,

Hi Ari,
Thank you for your offer to help.
I do understand that the whole chart needs to be taken into account. I don't feel that I am at a solid understanding of the meaning of planet archetypes and houses as yet.
Sometimes when one has the answer (or meaning in this case) , it is an easier learning to be able to work backwards to understand better.
My thoughts are that water, being spiritual, with water would intensify the aspect, i.e. become more soul/source orientated.
I see a connection in the example, pluto in the 12th, pisces ruling 8th. Cancer ruling 12th with moon in the 4th ruled by scorpio.
It says to me: moon(ego) 4th ruled by pluto (soul). pluto (soul) in 12th (source) ruled by cancer (moon). and moon sextile neptune.
Therefore ego indentifies with soul, soul indentifies with source, therefore ego identifies with source.
I feel this would be a very compassionate aspect and pluto in 12th would be an unconditional healer.
many thanks and love,
Jane

Hi Jane, what you described is definitely a possibility with those signatures. I want to offer a broader ea dimension for what you wrote about.

Water points to the spiritual nature of the human being in the first place. Each water sign/house/planet points to the direct relationship between the totality of existence and each individual person. When we combine them in any way we are basically looking at a soul that is asking the questions "who am I?" The answer will only make sense on larger cosmological terms and yet will depend greatly on evolutionary state. Victimization, strong attachments, utter confusion, naivete and all kinds of challenging psychological/emotional states can come up with these signatures - not just unconditional healing.

Lastly, anyone with any chart can be more or less soul/source oriented. The emphasis of archetypes on the chart simply describes the specific karmic and evolutionary dynamics of that particular soul. All soul are, in the end, of the Source, and all souls have the potential to desire that Source.

If you'd like to explore the signatures you spoke of some more on your own, I recommend reading the Pluto in the 12th section in the Pluto book as well as Pluto in the 4th.
With Love,
Ari Moshe

These descriptions are very helpful Ari, broken down into practical terms and easily understood.
