Recently, I came across some articles of women in the past who would disguise themselves as men to have privileges and/or gain of men in the patriarchal society-such as an inheritance or joining the military or being a pirate.  Actually, quite common.  While examining these stories, I saw that the dynamics actually fit the pluto 10th with sn 8th, ruler in 12th.  By being in disguise, deceiving those they were joining forces with(sn 12th), they would be able to attain great power, whether it be for money or rank. (sn 8th to pluto 10th)  I found these very interesting, yet the one key piece that does not fit is the evolutionary stage.  This assignment we are discussing a late consensus soul; these stories are more along the lines of hmmm.... maybe the cusp of second and third stage individuated?

I started with this to bring in the creative aspect of seeing into past and present life story lines which can take us deeper into the meaning of this type of signature.  In the above stories, we see the sn ruler 12 aspect of disguise, hiding an aspect of self, being able to singularly focus on one part of who they are to achieve more social power.  In the example of joining the military as a woman in disguise, the motive is not consensus based-for this act is not directly linked with wealth and risks one's life-clearly for individual evolutionary purposes.

So, what as a soul in late consensus stage, would be example story lines which reveal these same archetypes playing out?   One example is portrayal of a single aspect of one's self (sn ruler 12th), thereby hiding true self to marry someone who has social power and wealth.  In a patriarchal culture, this could be a female in marriage to a man of "high standing", yet it could be a man marrying a woman from upper class family.  In this example, the sn 8th is a symbol of merging with someone who has wealth and resources - power by definition of consensus perspective.  Relative to the sn ruler 12 in waxing sextile to pluto 10th, playing the role of "wife" or "husband" which the other wants/thinks they are with would be a role which leaves them alone, isolated with time to internally process the way in which their life is unfolding.  In this story, we see the nn ruler square the nodes manifesting as the internal conflict in each moment to stay with the status quo, keep wearing the mask out of sense of power and security from the partner/marriage OR to break free.  Major inner crisis; relative to waning square of nn ruler to nn, there is a crisis in belief surrounding personal values, which are just beginning to vacillate between consensus based values and individual values.  Relative to sn waxing square, the crisis in action is the impulse to caste off, abruptly break free and liberate from this "living a lie" - to sustain oneself, thereby finding all security from within, what one is identifying with internally who they are and what they are capable of.  We need to ask, at what point, relative to consensus reality, will one stick their neck out and take such a leap of faith to be free(nn ruler waning square to nn)?  This question's answer lies in knowing what specific era/time, and culture we are actually talking about, as well as gender, the totality of the chart, etc.  The point here is that this story starts to suggest the dynamics and how they may play out.

Now, we could also see the breaking free from whatever the sn 8th symbolized as a road to being thrown into "survival situations" in which s/he needed to rely on their own inventiveness and ideas to survive.(nn 2nd/ruler 11th)  Imagine someone suddenly leaving a small town.  Connecting with another group of people would be a step in survival, securing basic resources.  Once in this new group, we may see the sn8th/ruler 12th play out relative to pluto 10th-the person unconsciously desires to be in a place of power in this group - this is what is familiar and comfortable to him/her.  Here, the individual comes constantly into the same inner conflict.  By playing a certain role/wearing this or that mask/amplifying a specific trait/persona/disguising their true nature(all sn ruler 12th) they would create (waxing trine to sn 8th) the merging with a specific person, group, organization, bureaucracy, etc. (sn 8th) thereby achieving a powerful position and increase in wealth and social standing(pluto 10th).

Coming back to the square of nn ruler to nodal axis, the individual is constantly torn between the inner reality of being extremely attracted and repulsed by what they just created, and being extremely attracted(and repulsed) by idea of  breaking away again from shared power dynamics.  Seeing the ppp activated, the individual has already experienced great inner emotional fulfillment by being able to personally succeed, sustain one's self, to survive in a worldly sense without the "trappings" of working with another person/group.  "Trappings" relative to the impulse and crisis in action to act out one's own visions and ideas.
On the other hand, people can go on and on, live days, weeks, years, and lives convincing themselves that what they are doing is right.  Relative to sn and based on the late consensus stage and the sn ruler 12th, we will see the attraction to stick with working for/with someone/thing of greater resource/power/wealth to be a choice which, partly s/he can go on fooling her/himself that this is ideal(sn ruler 12th).  We have two things to consider at this point - a. the skipped step square and b. the resulting evolutionary necessity of staying with someone/thing out of illusion of needed power/security.  So, in this signature, part of the self is like "hell no, I want to get the heck out of this" but then may simply pretend this inner dialogue isn't really happening.(sn ruler 12).  So, we could see this person, depending on the actual chart and strength/emphasis of 12/pisces/neptune relative to pluto and sn, have this inner attraction repulsion be this inner argument that is so familiar to her/himself.  In this example, where the individual is repeatedly convincing self that this is where they should be and the role is only being followed for the money and security of job/career, we can then except to see the evolutionary necessity of the 8th house "rug pulled out from under the feet"  relative to ppp 4th- and of course the abandonment, betrayal, resulting "˜slow to trust', felt deceived.   We see the sn ruler 12 played out by the individual in first example and by the "other" which they merged with(sn 8th) in this last example.

What we know by seeing the lateness of third stage consensus is that this pattern is old, deep in the individuated unconscious.  They have already broken ties, gone solo and survived- the resulting experience was much more fulfilling on an inner emotional level for them then holding onto a career that had held onto for the power it allowed connection to.  (11-> 2-> 4th).  We also know that part of them is repulsed by doing it all alone - this is because they have life experiences in which they realized the creative power of merging with others.  (sn 8th waxing trine ruler 12th)- ultimately, this too was fulfilling for them and there were needed experiences in establishing who they are "out in the world"- work/career/society. (pluto 10th)  This nodal square also means that they have unfinished business in learning self achievement, discipline, motivation, and personal authority.  Relative to skipping ahead to nn 2nd, gaining more personal wealth running their own business may resulted in a laziness, stagnation, loss of motivation and ambition.  They may have become more focused on improving their home.  In this example, channeling gained money into building and improving their home(very consensus 4th house result of nn 2nd), they have settled down.  Relative to the skipped step 8th, they need to, bottom line, incorporate these 2nd and 4th house experiences thru the 8th.  Another way of saying this, is:  ask these questions- where is the growth in this person's life?  Who is close to them?  What or who, outside of their self are they committed to?  Is their business changing/evolving?  Are they having sex?  Are they having intimate relationships which push them, are powerful shaping forces in their life?

Mentioned in the first post was the guilt pattern with a pluto 10th house.  Relative to late consensus, the guilt would be connected to the path that brought them into positions of social power.  Already mentioned guilt of past lives of being deceived by an organization/corporation which one was working for.  Used, abused, they abruptly left the situation feeling manipulated, cheated and lied to and participated/contributed to corrupt use of power unknowingly.  This is one possible reason s/he would carry guilt.
Another would be, back to the earlier example of (sn ruler 12th) wearing the disguise to access the power themselves.  There may be guilt and self judgement, both from social conditioning and possibly violation of natural laws because of these past acts of deception.
Another example, relative to this signature, which would explain carrying guilt, would be that s/he by accessing power and wealth via others in upper class standing(sn 8th relative to pluto 10th in late consensus); achieved this because of role playing an inflated self image(sn ruler 12 waxing trine)- even something like parading around like a peacock, so to speak.  "I am so great, blah, blah, blah..."  Something like this would be an act that was a dis-service to self/creator.  Even mocking those who are "less fortunate" from this self inflated place of power.  There may have been, via karmic retribution, the removal of access to such power, forced cut off, deep haunting guilt of having "bettered one self" for sake of material gain.

Whatever the actual stories, past experiences that led to guilt, we can be keeping in mind that a lot of this guilt may have it's sourcing in the conditioning of a moral right and wrong relative to society which a life was/is lived.    For example, the taught "˜right and wrong'- relative to the sn ruler 12th/sn 8th--> "fake it until you make it" approach may be taught by the culture as deceitful and wrong, yet it may have been exactly what this person needed to be doing to evolutionary progress in the past.

I asked the question in an earlier post about knowing if this soul has achieved high social standing, success, wealth in many different cultures.
Here is my answer to this:
Most likely, there would be several cultures in which this soul has had such experiences.
We do have the sn, sn ruler, nn ruler all in waxing aspect to pluto.  We, also, do not know the location of pluto in the 10th - is it just entering or is it late in the 10th?  Also, we lack the clues of an actual chart - where does sag and jupiter show up relative to the core evolutionary signature?  Other planets in 9th?  What about the planetary nodes?
This question does not have a yes or no answer- there is a spectrum of manifestation which we need more info to go further with.

Rad and all,
here is "˜going further' with this assignment.
I found it challenging to tie in sn ruler waxing sextile to pluto, aspect between nodal rulers, and sn to pluto.
Also, I have not yet gone too deep into relationship and sexuality.  Surely, there is more dynamics relative to each part and the whole which still have not been gone into.
As always, any feedback is welcome and appreciated.
Thank You.

Rad

Hi Bradley,

It's wonderful that you are allowing yourself to so creatively explore the possibilities within the archetypes presented in the current paradigm. Are there are indeed many, many possibilities within the totality of these archetypes: as in any paradigm. And one of those possibilities in the current paradigm you have rightly discovered in your historical research that you have shared here. So, yes, what you have discovered and shared is totally possible within this paradigm.

"maybe the cusp of second and third stage individuated? "

This possibility can occur at any stage of the evolutionary development of the Soul: not limited to the second or third stage. And there are other paradigms that can also correlate to this phenomena of a women making herself appear as a man, or visa versa.

God Bless, Rad

Bradley J

Rad,
thanks for your reply.
This reminds me of the compulsion of a pluto 10th to achieve, the risks taken out of ambitious plans and, relative to the sn 8th, obsessive motivations...manifesting potentially as positive evolutionary growth, corrupt action, and the spectrum inbetween.

My pinning this to the later individuated stage shows that I am still learning the bottom line of pluto in the 10th period.

Blessings,

Bradley

Pluto 10th - SN 8th - SN Ruler 12th
PP 4th - NN 2nd - NN Ruler 11th
End of 3rd Consensus

The prior evolutionary intention of the Soul was to establish its authority and individuality (values, needs, purpose) within the upper strata of society (Pluto 10th, 3rd consensus) by merging with sources and symbols of power (SN 8th) such as prestige, status, family dynasty, material abundance, authority, political power (10th), sexual power, taboo experiences, intimate relationships, inheritances (8th), and to realize the Ultimate Source of power (SN ruler 12th).  He has a psychoanalytical orientation to penetrate to the core of himself, to understand himself, and so he seeks to understand "why" he seeks power in society, etc.

He is beginning to exhaust or dissolve some of these root desires (3rd consensus) by liberating from existing cultural/societal/parental conditioning (11th);  resolving skipped steps by detaching, viewing and therefore healing past life conditioning patterns;  liberating himself (11th) from unhappy relationships (8th);  redefining his self-image (4th);  and discovering how he can be his own symbol of transformation through his own efforts (2nd), as he evolves toward the cusp of 1st  Individuated.

He overly identifies with externalities such as a powerful social position for a sense of bottom line security (10th).  The karmic signature symbolizes various possibilities such as being born into a powerful and wealthy family with an intense, strict, disciplinarian father (10th) who was absent (12th) or who was emotionally unavailable to him (4th);  inheritance of wealth (8th);  merging resources with a powerful marriage partner or marrying into money (8th);  manipulating the system to his own advantage (10th);  and, the creation of his bottom line desires through his co-creative power (12th).

The last metamorphic event keeps him fixed on the treadmill as a powerful and authoritative social figure (10th, 3rd consensus).  Any effort to implement change (cardinal 10th) causes insecurity, as his behavioural patterns are very rigid and fixed.  The emotional dynamics of his inner child are repressed and stifled (4th) due to over-identification with career, social position, duty, and responsibility for a sense of meaning and security (10th).

He has a compulsion to merge with others he perceives as powerful (8th) through the sexual body, and he would have a strong tendency to fantasize and daydream (12th) about sex, powerful people, how he can manipulate and use them.  These figures, based on prior life connections, symbolize something that he desires, eg power, influence, material success, or they may seek him out for the same reasons. Various degrees of sexual manipulation will occur in these relationships/liaisons implying an unhealthy emotional dependence. The attractions will be obsessive, compulsive and irrational, and some may bring back unconscious memories of being hurt, abused, manipulated and then abandoned (8th) and could result in negative behaviours such as revenge, manipulation, or control (8th).  Once his need for these sexual partners has been fulfilled, these relationships are usually discontinued.

Violations of trust, abandonment, betrayal, loss, and emotional shocks delivered by family, children, divorce, fall from grace or secrets uncovered - when the rug is pulled out from under him - causes his artificial world to collapse.  This leads to a sense of being out of control of his life (12th) and he could try to grasp for more power and control (8th) by reverting to the security of the past, and an all-consuming fear or resistance to the Source (12th) due to feelings of intense guilt and self-judgment (10th).  He is forced in upon himself to deeply examine "why" these cataclysms have occurred.

It is possible that he sustained psychological abuse (8th) by a tyrannical father (10th), or suffered intense delusion, betrayal and loss through an unhappy marriage (8th), thus impacting upon his emotional reality/self-image (PP 4th), which then necessitated the liberation (11th) from and resolution/healing of the skipped steps.

Behind the societal expectation (consensus) that he present himself as a man of stature, masculinity, toughness and power may lie shyness and timidness, and this could point to another form of crisis:  a suppressed bi/homosexual tendency (11th) exacerbated by a recent gender switch (10th/4th).  In this case he would attract past-life connections in order to resolve the problem of his sexuality (skipped steps) by metamorphosing the limitations (8th), developing detachment and objectivity (11th) in order to liberate his sexuality, and to transcend the limitations of cultural consciousness and the judgments therein (10th, consensus).

He could try to hide repetitive compulsive behaviours and all manner of "skeletons in the closet" and would experience breakdowns, cataclysms, crises and disillusionment around:  family secrets, loss of family support, suspect business dealings, loss of wealth, fall from grace, depression, feeling great emptiness (10th), secretive sexual liaisons, obsessive infatuations, taboo sexual desires and experiences, failure to repay loans (8th), alcoholism, insanity, irrational behaviour, phobia, paranoia, incarceration, attempts at suicide, fear (12th), quite possibly leading to a mental/nervous breakdown (11th).

The limitations of his sense of power will force him back in upon himself (4th, 2nd) and cause him to approach spirituality when nothing else would work (12th), allowing him to experience new thoughts, realizations, dimensions and new ways of relating to himself (12th).  He would regain faith in life (12th), find security within (4th), and find his true sense of value and self-worth (2nd).

Since he's had great difficulty in trusting life, he is learning to let-go and trust.  He realizes that going through the old motions of success and social position are not serving any further purpose, and so he learns to develop security and personal fulfillment on in an inner level, freeing himself from overly harsh responsibilities.

On the ashes of these crisis scenarios, he begins to blast his way out of the old karmic signature, to rebel against societal pressure, and to attract people of like mind (11th), who don't fit the usual mold or societal conditioning.  The rebellion against his existing conditions allows for the beginning of an individuation process to occur (end of 3rd consensus).

His societal position continues to evolve through a process of reflection on what structurally needs to change in his life (10th) in order that further growth can occur (8th), and this leads to liberation (11th) from the old conditions.  He also liberates from existing fears of betrayal, abandonment, loss and violations of trust by examining the causal factors therein (8th), and then changing the patterns.

The same process of liberation applies to his self-image (4th), whereby the need to be held and touched (2nd, 8th), to be nurturing and empathetic (4th), creates emotional renewal and inner security (PP 4th) and a sacred quality (12th) whereby he is able to metamorphose personal limitations (8th) and purge self-defeating thoughts (12th).  The liberation of his sexuality makes way for a budding desire to change his political views and to make the system more socially equitable for all citizens (11th).

Rad,
Personally, I had been thinking about starting the next assignment in whatever fashion and detail you choose.
Today, I began to revisit this signature regarding relationships and sexuality.
I'll be posting a bit more on this in a day or two, otherwise feel ready to move on.

Blessings,

Pluto 10th Assignment continued:

Relationship and Sexual Dynamics

This individual, on a soul level, has been driven to achieve and establish their own power and authority.  In personal relationships, this dynamic would be seen in s/he maintaining a sense of control and power in the relationship - to be in control and more comfortably taking a dominant role.
This dynamic is tied to pluto, sn and it's ruler.  It would be natural and easy for him/her to appear as different than this.  Relative to sn ruler 12th, s/he would be able to appear to his/her partner as the person which they desire.  S/he would naturally take on these roles/fall into these roles because it is naturally more comfortable for them to maintain a sense of control and power in the relationship, thereby one manifestation of this would  be dominating the relationship while having the appearance of doing and/or being exactly what their partner wants.

This is a parallel to the same pattern discussed earlier regarding how s/he has learned to "shape change"/play the role needed to access power/maintain control to hold a dominant position.
In some cases, relative to the pluto 10th, we may see, at times a deep struggle of suppressed emotion coming out in the relationship as being "frozen" in a sense.  With a mate, it would be possible to see this even play out as, in the case of a female bodied person, faking orgasm and having their partner experience, via illusion, an amazing sexual experience, yet inwardly being restricted, closed off, and not personally having sex bring a sense of emotional warmth, closeness.  This dynamic really depends on the individuals unconscious needs to maintain a dominant role in the relationship.  For a woman in patriarchal America, for example, this would be where we get the phase "I can see who wears the pants in the family" and other patriarchal responses to a woman holding  the power position in a relationship.  For a male in this same example of american culture, it would feel like a naturally taught role, relative to the culture, yet leave inner isolation.

Yet, this person, on a soul level, is no longer satisfied with this role exclusively.  Male or female, we know that the sense of living a lie, specifically in relationship, has increased and resulted in casting off holding power and control and the position in which they had embodied so often.  (square nn ruler to sn)  The pluto 10th aloneness, the "ebinezzer scrooge" experience of isolation of being on the top, cold and alone because of their compulsion to hold power position has lost its glory and reward.  Inwardly, they may become "trapped" in roles that were molded for them, resulting in that sense of "living a lie".  This is all relative to time and society/culture of birth.  In the two american cultural examples, both "˜roles' are culturally archetypal roles and have a familiarness to them - relative to the pluto 10th, this means a natural comfortability.  Extending this to partnership leading into family, we see that it would be easy for this person to naturally be the disciplinary and "˜authority' of the family.  An example of this playing out in a parental role, s/he would be able to maintain authority and control by subtly altering situations, circumstances, and even objects in a room.  On a very mundane level, this could be seen in, as a parent of a toddler, "keeping hidden" things that may happen until the timing is "˜right', subtly steering, unknown to the child, them away from a person, experience, or situation which would alter the child's experience.  This style of parenting is in no way "wrong" or "right", it is totally relative to the individuals use of power.

So, this same pattern would be playing out in the relationship(s).  What this means is that s/he would be even more subtle (sn ruler 12) and at times secretive (sn 8) around specific situations which would potentially threaten their own standing in the relationship.

Now, the above is not the totality of the individual's experience.  The above is an isolation of the pluto, sn and it's ruler to begin to paint the picture of one polarity of reality that s/he will be coming from.  Now, to weave in the north node 2nd, it's ruler 11th relative to the pluto polarity point 4th, we can see that, on a soul level, outer achievement has not been the end all.  In a personal relationship area, this means that, relative to the nn 2nd and it's ruler, s/he has made effort to break away from past patterns of complex entanglement and simplify their life, thereby creating more space in their life for a home life. (resulting activated ppp 4)  Pulling out of full submergence into the career path, s/he has already created experiences of connecting to learning how to be emotionally present and nurturing.  This would extend into partnerships, relationships with children, and sex life.

Now, the push-pull of the nodal axis and it's square from nn ruler in the 11th.  This is applying to the south node, as discussed prior.  What this means in terms of relationship dynamics is that their is a struggle, on a soul level, to stay within his/her own limits of power or go outside of the self and "seize the reigns" so to speak.  This is a constant inner struggle because of the ways in the past that s/he has taken hold of greater power.  On one hand, there can be guilt and self judgement around this.  Also, a sense of again leaving them emotionally cut off by controlling and dominating.  The actual past life experiences of betrayal, abandonment, and confrontation which reside in the individual's subconscious play out in such a way that there is also a fear of being to deeply involved.  Relative to this, the withdrawn into self(nn 2nd) by making abrupt breaks in these types of relationships and/or relationship patterns, while simplifying(2nd) her/his life and allowing more alignment of the outer with his/her own inner identity, they also symbolize the skipped step - which, relative to relationships means that s/he has a evolutionary lesson of learning to integrate the evolving inner core self identity (2nd-4th) thru the experience of intimacy and merging with their partner.

To say this another way, s/he will not be emotionally complete just by living out the north node, thereby the ppp 4th unless it is re-integrated thru the past egocentric identity of merging together to accomplish purpose.  The signature suggests fears of intimacy relative to the past wounds when they were very open to greater power outside of themself. (sn ruler 12)  While they have proven that they can succeed "by theirself", the fruits of the ppp - 4th - inner emotional security will not be truly experienced unless it is integrated thru the sn 8th and natal pluto.  In an intimate relationship, the resolution of the past karmic signature could be played out many different ways, of course.  One example would be allowing them self the freedom to connect with other groups of like minded individuals while in relationship which cultivate a sense of core values and having achieved a deep enough trust and intimacy in the relationship (resolved 8th, 10th) that there is a real resulting inner emotional security - such that there is no longer a need to control their partner's similar desires for freedom.  This allows freedom to be self sufficient within the context of a shared power relationship that has a sense of deeper meaning. (integration nn 2nd and ruler 11 thru sn 8th)  If s/he can come to this place, they may not need to still repeat this skipped step in the future.  This level of freedom within relationship means that they are not emotionally detaching from the relationship, they are no longer retreating into them self, the combination of the two creating a "running away from intimacy" - so, we see how clear it becomes that it is crucial that this soul learns to integrate the experience of individual freedom and self reliance into partnership, marriage, union with another.  Without this integration, the resulting patterns would be the ones initially described - inner aloneness.
A very healthy individual which is evolving through the skipped steps (integrating the future thru the past) will show the emotional security to allow a "˜loss of control' and maybe even open up to the uncontrollable chaotic experiences which sex and intimacy can release.  Where this individual is at with this can only be determined thru, of course - observation and correlation.

Oh I spaced on this, sorry. Yes I would like to continue.

Rad

Hi Ari,Gonzalo,Linda,Bradley, and any others that want to continue doing our practice charts ,

Ok, the new practice chart will have Pluto conjunct Mars in the 9th, new phase, the S.Node will be in the 11th conjunct Neptune, and N.Node in the 5th, and it's ruler will be in the 4th. The evolutionary stage will be 3rd Stage Spiritual.

Let's have a go at it.

God Bless, Rad

Hi Rad,

Where should we place the sn ruler?

Rad

Hi Ari,
The S.Node is in the 11th, and it's ruler is Pluto.
