2nd stage spiritual

Dear Rad, 

As we have learned,, the second stage spiritual condition tends to entail a learning process where the ego aligns/identifies with God'dess, and will go through some kind of necessary sense of "˜full ness' where that confidence in the spiritual bonding to God'dess, (and the capacities that come with it) create an urge in the Soul to overshoot their ambitions and thus lose their perspective in what it really means to do God's work.  There have many examples shared about the catastrophes and monstrosities which can occur where others are hurt. 

I find myself fearful of the prospect of evolving into that condition, and I just don't want any part of that process. Yet, it is the natural evolutionary sequence of evolving one's ego back to PURE identification with God.  I know that one's efforts to stay focused on one's intent can and will mitigate the severity of how 2nd stage spiritual plays out, but I find myself completely dreading the idea of the challenge.  Are there examples of 2nd stage spiritual souls who have successfully navigated this evolutionary stage with true class and grace? 

I ask not just for myself, but for the many others of us who are in the 1st stage spiritual who want to progress to final goal of self-realizing God.  You can't get to the 3rd stage spiritual without going through the second stage.  I imagine others share my concern, bcz 1st stage spiritual is so defined by humility, and there's a lot of us here in that condition.  Are there any insights you could offer to help those of us who hold the fear of stepping into the second stage spiritual because of these egocentric problems?  Are there examples of hope, where a soul can elegantly navigate the 2nd stage?

Hi Stacie,

Most Souls that evolve into the 2nd stage spiritual do not manifest in the extreme ways that have been cited to illustrate what can happen in this stage of the Soul's evolution such as Rajneesh. For most there simply is an inner  over identification with the 'role' they feel they have to bring God/ess into the lives of others: " I am here to do this or that' on  behalf of the Creator. One of the stories that JWG use to share about himself at this stage of his own development was a life in which he felt so full of God/ess that he took it as his 'mission' to run through a local village that he lived near in the earliest hours of the morning shouting at the top of his lungs 'wake up to God'. You can imagine that these villagers did not take kindly to this that lead to him being banished from that village. The point here is that he determined in himself that he had this mission versus actually being inwardly directed by the Creator to do this. And that, indeed, is what the core lesson is within this stage of development. So, again, in one way or another most Souls evolving into this state experience it in this way: in one way or the other.

Some examples of Souls who have evolved into the beginning of the 3rd Stage Spiritual would be John Of The Cross, Therese Neumann, and Ananda Moi Ma.

Seconded from me! I have not posted very much here to date, but Stacie's question has brought me out of hiding, as it echoes my own concerns.

I am familiar with the writings of St John of the Cross, particularly regarding his experiences and insights regarding the Dark Night of the Soul. However I have not previously heard of the other two souls that Rad named in reply to Stacie. I will be sure to find out more about them over the Christmas/New Year holidays!
