JWG Lung Formula

Hi all.  I was a student of JWG during the 90s.  He had a good remedy for lungs and with the corona virus and all thought it would be good to get the recipe but can't seem to find it in my old notes.  Does anyone know how to prepare the remedy?  Thank you!

(Q): Can you give us directions on how to make the lung formula?

(A): Use equal parts of the dried herbs (Echinacea, hyssop and mullein) to fill a quart jar half full, then add olive (or vegetable) oil to fill up the rest of the jar and place a lid on it. Soak the herbs for two weeks and then strain. Separately, simmer a clove of diced garlic in olive oil for approximately 30 minutes so that you have an herb oil and a garlic oil. Then you mix, for example, 3/4 cup of herb oil with 1/4 cup of garlic oil and place it in a dark jar and refrigerate it. It will last for a long time - up to two years. The dosage is 25 drops a day, 3 times a day, on the tongue.

Hi everyone, I am going to be making some of Jeffrey's Lung Formula.  Does anybody know if I can extract the active ingredients from the plants with Everclear?  I know the original formula uses oil for extraction, but i was just wondering if alcohol can be substituted.  I use alcohol for all my other plant extractions.  Thank you. Yes, you  can make it into a tincture with alcohol.

Hi Rad, I cannot remember the dosage for Jeffrey's Lung Formula even though I have used it before.  (Several years ago, JWG Lung Formula helped my elderly dad recover from that catastrophic ailment known as Legionnaires' Disease.) Would a full dropper of tincture 2x a day be about right?  Much appreciate your help with this.  Thanks.  DDD

Can I ask if anyone has had trouble with the fine hairs found on Mullein when making the formula? thanks

Hi Goldleaf, last autumn I picked my own mullein leaves to make my tincture.  Yep they are hairy but it doesn't negatively affect the tincture in any way.  Not sure if that answers your question...DDD

Yes, simply filter the tincture through coffee filters ... one or two times should do it ...
