Determing Phasal Relationship Between May 3rd Lucifer and the Nodes of the Moon

What I'm seeing is that Lucifer is in a Disseminating Trine with the Capricorn South Node and in a Crescent Phase Sextile with the Cancer North Node.

I've got Kim Marie's handouts and JWG's books that describe the process but I need confirmation I'm doing it correctly. Could someone please confirm if I'm reading the phasal relationship between Lucifer and the Nodes of the Moon correctly? (In this chart "L" is the glyph for Lucifer)

Hi Rad

Just a quick check as I find it's easy to end up cross-eyed looking at these things...

Assuming it's the natal chart in the inside of the wheel we're dealing with, Lucifer is in Taurus and the North Node in Cancer, 60 deg apart, so that's a sextile.

Lucifer's mean motion is towards Gemini, and the North Node's mean motion is towards Gemini, so as time moves on the gap between them is lessening as they head towards a conjunction.

Wouldn't this mean Lucifer and the North Node were in a Last Quarter phase?

thanks Upasika

Rad

HI Upasika,

Yes, you are correct. Cross eyed indeed.

Sorry for my mistake, and thanks for catching it.

God Bless, Rad

Now I'm wondering if I've really got this understood... I will ask a few more qualifying questions using the chart originally posted to make sure.

Since Pluto is slower moving than the nodes does it stand to reason that:
the South Node is in a New Phase Conjunction to Pluto
the North Node is in a Full Phase Opposition to Pluto

and that...
Since Mars is faster moving than the nodes that it means:
Mars is in Balsamic Phase to the North Node
Mars is in Gibbous Phase to the South Node

..?

I think I'm starting to go crossed eyed now! >_<

No, Pluto and the S.Node are in a balsamic phase, and the N.Node is in a Gibbous Phase opposition

Yes, Mars is in a Balsmaic Phase to the N.Node, and, yes, Mars is in a Gibbous Phase to the S.Node

Thanks Rad. Can you explain to me why this is the case regarding Pluto? If it is the slower moving planet and the node is separating from it, how does this make the south node balsamic to Pluto? I'm very confused by this.

Rad

Hi,

The S.Node is not separating from Pluto: it is moving towards Pluto relative to the counter-clockwise way of determining phases.

Thanks Rad. I apologize for being persistent, but this information appears to conflict with what this handout I have states.. it says that determining aspects is done counter clockwise for all bodies except when it comes to the Moon's Nodes, which assume all bodies are moving clockwise from the nodes. Is this handout not accurate?

Rad

Hi,

You are right actually: I forgot, blurry eyed, about the Moon's Nodes mean retrograde motion when I was looking at that. So, yep, it's a new phase indeed for that Pluto/Moon position. There was something weird going on in my brain by looking at that black zodiac.. the blurry eyed affect for me I guess.

Anyway, you got it right. Sorry for creating the confusion in you.

God Bless, Rad
