Conjunct Ascendant vs 1st house

I was wondering how the effect of a planet for instance Neptune would effect the expression if it was conjunct the ascendant vs if it was further into a house.

And also as a separate question what is the basic planetary expression act like on a conjunction on the descendant vs in the 7th house?

Thanks for the help ;D

Hi Coyote,

A planet conjunct the ascendant is the marker for a new phase in the archetypal expression of that planet. It indicates a new cycle has just begun in the current life. The closer to the ascendent, the more instinctive the energy will be. The same with the Descendant or any other house cusp, but in the case of the Descendant, a new cycle relative to the initiation of relationships will be underway. The further into a house, the more established that planet will be on an archetypal level, and as it approaches the upcoming house, it will begin to prepare for the archetypal dynamics of that house.

Fascinating, so are all planets then progressing through the chart systematically so in the case of the Neptune on the ascendant eventually moving into the second house the native will begin the life lessons of learning what Neptune in the second houses lessons are about followed by the 3rd and the 4th, ext?

So if once has many planets in the 12th house would this suggest a soul that has gone through many cycles? or does there have to be multiple signatures for that to be the case?

Thanks

Hi Coyote,

"Fascinating, so are all planets then progressing through the chart systematically so in the case of the Neptune on the ascendant eventually moving into the second house the native will begin the life lessons of learning what Neptune in the second houses lessons are about followed by the 3rd and the 4th, ext?"

Neptune will transit the Second House and other houses systematically thus correlating with dynamics and lessons pertaining to Neptune´s archetypal nature within that House. It doesn´t mean that in the next life or later in the current life one will have a need to learn or experience Neptune in the Second House´s archetypal dynamics in a linear progression, as if it was a natal placement.

"So if once has many planets in the 12th house would this suggest a soul that has gone through many cycles? or does there have to be multiple signatures for that to be the case

We have all gone thru countless cycles in order to be where we are presently, with EA one can be more specific and see symbolically if we are beginning a new cycle, in the middle or end of it etc, and also other qualities of those cycles. Many planets in a balsamic phase to one another will indicate many inner cycles coming to an ending. Planets at the very end of signs can also indicate the end of a cycle.

Many planets in the 12th House can indicate a culmination of dynamics relative to the nature of the archetypes of the planets located in the Twelfth House.

Skywalker,

this is helpful thank you. How would you approach a native's Neptune on the Ascendant (in the first house only by 13 degrees) that has progressed (by retrograde) to Neptune in the 12th house (by one less degree of the sign)?

Skywalker

Hi Marty,

I would approach it by looking at the person´s context and circumstances, their actual reality, and by looking at the other transits/progressions in relation to the natal chart in a holistic way.
