Ascendant square Nodes

Hi all,

I'm looking at a chart that has the Ascendant squaring the Nodes. Does anyone know if this is classified as a skipped step? I can't find any information within evolutionary astrology that suggests it is, so I'm assuming not. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated though. Thank you

Hi Lenore,

I found this:

(Q): Is there a general evolutionary paradigm when the Ascendant is square the nodal axis, and what is the nature of the skipped step here if there is a general one?

(A): Primarily, this involves an emotional paradox linked with relationships. The cause is that the Soul feels within itself that it has some special destiny to actualize, with the feeling itself being primarily instinctual in nature. As a result, the Soul desires to have enough circumstantial freedom in order to act upon the instinctual desires that will lead to the actualization of that special destiny. Conversely, the Soul also desires to complete itself thru relationships, not as the dominate partner in which the relationship primarily revolves around the individual, the Soul, but in a relationship based on true equality in which they give to the partner for the sake of giving, as well giving to the partner what that partner actually needs versus what the soul/individual thinks that the partner needs.

This has created the emotional paradox for the Soul because the fear that is generated relative to the paradox is a fear of being limited or 'entrapped' within such a relationship that is perceived to then undermine the need for freedom that leads to the actualization of the 'special destiny.' As a result, the Soul will re-attract in this life partners from other lives in which the relationship has not been completed based upon the above evolutionary need.

Hi Cat,

Sounds similar to having Pluto in the 1st house. Thanks for replying and for the info, much appreciated!

Blessings  :)

Hi all,
Can someone also give some information on the Nodes square DC, IC and MC?
Thank you .

Hi Maya,

In understanding the Nodes squared the natural cardinal points, Asc, IC, MC, and the DC, it is essential to understand exactly what house the S.Node is in this understanding. For example, if the Nodes are squaring the ASC and the DC, and the S.Node is in the 10th, then the archetypes of the 10th House is that which has been creating the conflict, potential skipped steps, with the ASC/DC. If the S.Node were in the 4th then these are the archetypes that have been the the causative dynamics creating the conflicts, and the potential for skipped steps.

In the same way if the S.Node is in the 1st House this would correlate to the causative dynamics being in conflict, potential for skipped steps, with the archetypes of the MC and the IC. If the S.Node were in the 7th then it would be those archetypes that are the causes of the conflicts and potential skipped steps relative the MC and the IC.

Aspects from other planets to the S.Node, and it's planetary ruler, will correlate with additional archetypes and dynamics that have been the cause of the conflicts, and the potential for skipped steps.

The resolution within all of these possible signatures starting with the S.Node is through the N.Node, by house, the location of it's planetary ruler, and the aspects to these from other planets.

The inner resolution with the consciousness of the Soul is to create a desire for 'all of the above' or 'both/and' in terms of actualizing all of the archetypes involved in the total signature versus and 'either/or' orientation to the totality of the archetypes.

The consciousness of either/ or is exclusionary by it's nature that allows for either total exclusion of developing/ actualizing parts of the total signature or actualizing parts of the total signature without full development of all of the total signature. This is what can then cause the skipped steps relative to the necessary need to develop the totality of the signature.

The consciousness of both/and or all of the above allows for a full development of the totality of the signature that then precludes any possibility of developing skipped steps.

The bottom line is this: with the Nodes squaring the IC,MC,DSC, or the ASC does not, of itself, mean that they has been or will be skipped steps. It does mean that they have been, will be in the current life, a high degree of internal conflicts within the Soul in terms of the necessary evolutionary development and actualization of all the archetypes involved in the total signature of the Nodes squaring the cardinal points.

However, it can mean this if the consciousness of the Soul has not fully developed all of these archetypes via the consciousness of exclusion: either/or. When this has been or is the case then of course it is essential the the Soul create a consciousness fueled by desire to do recover and actualize all of the archetypes and dynamics symbolized in the total signature.

The total signature, again, is the location of the S/N Nodes by house, sign, and the location of their planetary rulers, with all the aspects to these point by other planets relative to the archetypes that the Nodes are squaring: MC, IC, DSC, ASC. These archetypes will have signs on them with their own planetary rulers that are located somewhere within the birth chart. These planets of course will also have aspects to them from other planets. The totality of all this is that which correlates with the 'signature' to be understood in terms of understanding all of it.

God Bless, Rad
